I was looking through some pics in order to make some cash, and found an interesting thing.

As you can see on a pic i posted a link of, you`ll notice a "bridge" (cytokinetic bridge) between two cells. I checked the img with the example on the right and was surprised when i failed. Please, tell me, how do you personaly think? Is there a "bridge" or i`m hallicinating.

You have green filtered off, but was there green between the connectors? If there wasn't then you were incorrect.

Some samples may be incorectly labeled by the discovery program. We had more of this early. Maybe some of those samples persisted to this day. Or it is completely new sample incorrectly labeled from beginning. There is separate thread about program discovery on top of this forum section, there are some people there who worked on it, they may be more competent to reply to those questions. Its here.

Thanks a lot. So far I really enjoy looking through samples. With EVE`s soundtrack it is quite calming and relaxing. Thanks for all the responces.

Project Discovery is looking for the GREEN, and also you have to estimate what amount of green is "marker" vs. what amount of green is "background noise".

In the case of ck bridges, the structure of the bridge is there, as shown in the red filter, but if you don't have green strongly outlining it, it means that the particular protein that you're looking for in that sample is NOT present in the ck bridge structure, so you wouldn't select "ck bridge" as the answer.

A second thing that makes choices difficult is the amount of overall green. It's like using too much green dye; you have to look at the contrast rather than picking every single item that has even the faintest speck of green in it.

They have extra samples on the internet, click all the links under "Cell Structures" and play with the red green blue filters just like in-game. Helps you categorize things a bit better. EDIT: click the cytokinetic bridge web example and you'll see that the entire structure has to be strongly green to qualify.

Sometimes they are incorrectly labeled. I've missed a few here and there where I pick the correct option and they tell me I'm wrong even though im still above 90% accurate.

Project Discovery is basically Galaxy Zoo for people who like stabbing themselves with their own cutlery and then rolling around in lemon juice.
