Every salvager effectively is another dice, giving you in total better chance / speed to get the "6". You may put multiple salvagers on one target (difficult wrecks) or each on its own wreck (for easy wrecks).

If you are planning a career in salvaging you may want to talk to http://pro-synergy.net/

That's what they do.

One salvager module will cycle and roll the dice: salvage? -yes -no
Adding another salvager cycles for the same duration, but you're like cutting the cycle times between questions: salvage? -yes -no salvage? -yes -no (it really doesn't cut the cycle times tho.)

Go to this eve-uni site, search the page for "Salvaging science" which covers Base access chance, skills, rigs and implants.

I found it better to just use one salvager per wreck, cause it was faster for me (because I collect them in a pile) so I usually do 1x Salvager against 2x tractor beams.

One trick(perhaps as an omega, haven't checked) ive found is to use Salvage drones, which works kinda like salvage modules along with a Mobile tractor unit, which pulls in wrecks and helps the salvage drones so they don't have to fly from wreck to wreck which is usually kilometers apart.

when you have more wrecks than salvagers, put 1 salvager per wreck. this way you dont waste any salvager cycles (if you have 2 or more salvagers on one wreck, and the first one is already successful, all the other ones are wasted).
when you have more salvagers than wrecks, start stacking them.

Alphas can't use salvage drones. Alphas can use an MTU.

I you give an order to salvage to the salvage drones without targeting any wreck but with some target within your drone control ranger or no target selected, they start salvaging the nearest wreck (as a group) and then continue salvaging the nearest wreck, without the need to switch targets.
AFAIK, salvage drones can't salvage T2 wrecks. At least I have never seen one salvage succesfully a T2 wreck, while I have salvaged plenty of T2 wrecks with T1 salvagers.

Salvage drones do T2 wrecks, but you need salvage drone operations 4 to have a chance.
