Problem with Plex activation?

I went to activate a plex and it said:

Expires 2016.12.15


...and hovering over the "Add" tab:
January 14, 2017


question:
Do I get 30 days if I activate today 1/16/2017 to 2/15/2017? or is the above correct and it is a waste of plex to activate, because I will not get any Omega State, going by what is said in game?

You get 30 days from when you activate.

If you have any issue, submit a support ticket and CCP will sort it out.

This is a bug reported by several people, but it's always worth hitting F12 and submitting a bug report too.

Alpha clone state has been added to the game very haphazardly, and while it works okay from a technical aspect, some information shown to the user is outright wrong. Not only is the PLEX math all wrong as you've noticed, but accounts with an expired sub still display "less than a day left" in the character select screen, rather than clarifying the sub has already ran out.

The display is a bug; several people have confirmed they got the wrong "expires" as well, but when they used the PLEX they got the full 30 days correctly.

I think he was saying his account would have expired, not the PLEX. When you initially start the activation process for PLEX (right-clicking on it and selecting activate doesn't use it but rather brings a popup that allows you to select how you want to use the PLEX) the popup should display your current expiration date along with the expiration date if used for extending your account.

Also, for the OP, I would double check to see if it says the same thing when you log in and see the character selection screen. There should be an icon in your top-left and will display your account expiration date in real time as well as number of days remaining.

You would think this would be a high priority bug to fix, since it may have an impact on CCP's bottom line.

This isn't even the second time I've heard of it.
