Hi

Is EveHQ a good program?

What should I choose for their API? Everything?

Yeah I remember it being pretty damned good actually.
Yeah everything would be what you want, it offers quite a lot of functionality if I remember correctly.

My hard drive crapped out at some point last year and I had to replace everything and never bothered to reinstall it but it was definitely one of my favorite third party softwares.

Actuall ,Can you link me the source ? I may have a poke around again and see how it's holding up.

It seems like swiss-army tool.

Im not so keen on including a full sheet of API

I've been using it for years, loads of functionality and csv exports for the odd spreadsheet.

Your full API won't go outside the EveHQ install, it doesn't share that with anybody or anything but the API server.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yeah I don't think tripwire works on an out of game browser yet...Did they unfuck it yet or have they left it to die ?

Though I have no use for it normally so I'm not one to ask about it.

I'm pretty sure Eve HQ creates a template for you when you go to create an API key. Personally I just shared the evemon key with one or two other apps. As long as they are both not spamming the server it's all good. If you share a key, just don't have both apps open at the same time

Why do people get so panicky about full api's ...

A full api gives access to a lot of information that can be used against you. Your location and the ship you're flying, the fit of the ship you are flying. Your contracts, your emails. Your skills, your station inventorys, your market orders.......

Espionage is a very real part of the Eve metagame.
If I know your location I can ambush you any time.
If I know the fi of the ship you are flying I can make a counter fit.
If I know your contracts that you have, that tells me what kinds of scams you might be vulnerable to.
If I know your emails, all kinds of interesting info is in emails.
If I know your skills, I know what you can't do.
If I know your station inventorys I know whete you live and I can do targeted market pvp
If I know your market orders I can counter bid you and shut down your income. If you represent a large enough facion, it might even make price manipulation worth the effort.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

It works! It's been updated to do the CREST thing so you have to log in with your Eve credentials. Do that after logging into tripwire, then on the upper right, click on your name and then 'Authorize CREST'
