At a certain point too many things in the menu will distort its layout, requiring work on the menu itself in order for it to function correctly and display on all settings and resolutions.
Programming each new UI option does, in fact, take some time.

How often do you change the setting of the game?
Most people doing it once, they spend half an hour, choosing those settings, what they like and then do not change anything for years. And you forget that every month we pay developers for their work, so as consumers we have the right to ask for additional toggle and custom tracking position.

So, you insist on being disingenuous. The person in question is reputed for posting, sometimes walls of text, humorously or vindictively...pretty wide ranging. That was the irony of the smiley you choose to now categorize as a useless, thoughtless gesture. For that person, it spoke volumes, which I can't say for all the text you've been spewing in your self-propelled thread here. But, you go ahead and try to convince us and everyone else CCP needs to put as much effort into making a camera (that would put a smile on your face, one just as involved, intricate taking as much programming as the game itself....just to satisfy your appetite for eye candy) as they put into developing the game. Keep going.
You're doing brilliantly.

By the way. As a consumer, you can think you have the right to tell the baker how to bake his bread. However, that is evidence of your total lack of understanding of how a market system works. (The kind of misapprehension only the Entitled Generation can generate, by the way.) If you don't like how he bakes his bread, you have the right to
find another bakery.

Are you planning to split dynamic camera movement options?
Explain where the logic to combine different features like Dynamic Center Offset, Dynamic FOV with docking animation into one toggle. Separate at least DCO and DFOV from animation.

Gotta say I don't really follow this logic either. Very weird way of doing things.

But CCP already waste our money! Why they did this new camera? Who asked them to put effort into it? They do new camera only for eye candy crap, unnecessary docking animation and so on. Old camera worked much better in combat. You can say that the new camera has a wonderful new code. Fine, if this new code so cool then why developers can not add all the features of the old camera?
Now i need to turn off all eye candy crap and autotracking to keep my eyes from fatigue.
Almost 7 months have passed since the new camera was introduced. And we still can not set custom tracking position. Zoom speed is insane, X and Y axis has a different sensitivity. Camera work with Dynamic offset not corrected.
And in these months, we have received no response from CCP.

Again. If you make a purchase and you're not happy with it, you wasted your money. (You seem to be having trouble with this elementary principal of capitalism. Caveat Emptor) As for myself. I'm perfectly happy with the camera.
Good job with the camera CCP!!

I just can't believe that after the "new" camera was released and I agree, it's just useless as it is now.

I still love this game, but with a new camera, I just can not play like before, because my eyes get tired.
I want to get a simple respond from devs. Something like "We plan to fix the new camera in January 2017 and we plan to add custom tracking position in the year 2525". Not all people like new camera in its present state.

PS.
I give an answer to those who want to get my stuff.
Yes, you can get my stuff. But you need to unlock few achievements and for unlocking one of the achievements you just do not have enough time.

there sould b some sort of chasing camera, that i haven't found any where yet, maybe that would solve the looking at issue, with dynamic camera.
That takes the ship out of the center of the screen when used. but, makes the camer thing stay still in space, when i command it to looka at an object, and if the object is moving, all i ger to see, is it flying away, and theyt call that faiding camera, effect, unlike when dynamic camera is set off, but when tracking sh it,it sticks the ship i fly dead fuc king center on the god damn scvreen.
And that makes sense to some of u... Can some one pm me what chasing camera is, and how to use it?

Scratch that, somehow, today, when using the "look at" option, while using dynamic camera, the camera thig, follows the target... But, it didn't yesterday, i didn't change anything, since yesterday, i must have messed domething about the camera, unintentionally, has any one else had this isseu? With dynamic camera on, it gives u a stationary point of view, when looking at stuff one day, following the objects u want to look at the other?

this is the third time i am editing this post, yesterday, i was tryinhg to make the camera, follow moving objects, i was looking at, today, before i log in, i wrote the first part of this post, then i loged in, i tried the camera, with dynamic camera on, tried to look at something, camera, was following the object, on a set angle, decided to check tactical camera, when klicking on an object it would emidiatly give me aa far view of the area, with the object's location on the middle, regardless of the object's movement, but, i trid looking at the object, and it would give me a fixed point of view, so i thought, that was it, i didn't try both methods of looking at stuff, yesterday, and there was no problrm, at all, just me, being clampsy, so i decided to edit the post, but not deleting it, so, i did, then i went on playing the game, switched from tactical camera, to orbit camera, now remember, i tried the camera's controls, before scratch that, now, when using the orbit camera, with dynamic camera, set, on, to ceep my ship out of the way, and now, with orbit camers, sh it fly away again...
WHAT THE F U C K

Worked it out, if i want to look at a moving object, allthough that was not necessary for one log in, a little while ago, first you have to command look at, then the camera will show u the object, but then stay still, or move in relation to ur ship, not quite sure, and then command track target, not sure if that works the other way around too, first, track, then look at.

Please... Please... some one give me one good reason to belive looking at a moving object, with a camera that tends to move away from it, is a good idea, or, do i have it all wrong? I mean... I must be really stupid not to get the workings of a game that is developed by people who trie to ceep toggle options in small numbers, to be more friendly to new players...

CCP, we still need custom tracking position for new camera.
Because with dynamic camera my ship still want to hide from me I had to almost completely abandon the use tracking camera.
It has not made my flights easier.
And we need option to turn off undock animation.
I adapted to animation in hangar after every ship change but undock animation is most annoying thing after DONG (You may remember this wonderful sound effect, right?). Every undock we need to use mouse wheel to cancel this animation and track our own ship to quickly rotate camera to look at station surroundings.
Slider for adjusting the zoom level also would not hurt.
Come on guys! Make some real improvement to your crappy new camera!

CCP, Almost a year has passed since you presented NEW Incarna camera. And still you have not added custom tracking position. And still our ship continues to hide behind HUD and pinned windows.
CCPlease move lazy hands within range of keyboard and write awesome code for custom tracking position and ship deviations.

They either can't or won't by this point. They're quite aware by now that a lot of us want custom tracking like the old cam system had. Don't give your hopes up is all I'm saying.

No thanks. Dynamic camera sucks and makes undocking a nightmare. Every time I unlock, I have to rotate my camera, try to figure out which way im facing, it orient to the station so there's no space for me to right click on to warp out and if you right click station you just get docking options which means it's scroll around or look down the overview for where I want to go.

The effects when warping anf fly in around are cool but aren't worth the headache around the stations.

Why spend time and our money for a new camera if old worked much better?
Sometimes I think that the leaders of some CCP dev teams have shїt instead brains.
New INCARNA camera written with excellent code. Fine. Prove it and improve this unfinished crap called "new camera".

Really.
You are the customer!
You spend money on subscriptions and other purchases such as PLEX or AUR.
These funds CCP spends on the development of EVE and salaries for dev teams.
And CCP waste funds in wrong way.
DONG, Flashing kill confirmation, "You need to be within range", Incarna new camera, undock animation it's all very cool features but only for those who never undock from Jita IV-4 station.
For all others it is useless crap.

From my understanding the old camera had to go because they couldnt figure out how to do the outside view on the citadels.

Ill just paste this here because i find it funny that they only fixed one issue and that is the right click free move.

Tippia wrote:
The following issues remain unresolved:

• There is no way (at least none that is obvious) to adjust the tracking point of the tracking camera. This leads to most targets being hidden behind the ship. This solves the old design fault of not having your ship centred at all times, but does so in such a way as to ensure you don't see the target instead. Bring back the old tracking point setting, and remember to still keep your own ship centred. Effectively, this means that the tracking camera still isn't a tracking camera, but now it isn't one in a completely new (but equally useless) way than the previous attempt.

• Turning auto-tracking on does not track your current target. You have to enable the tracking camera, then select an object for it to start tracking, rather than the old behaviour where just turning tracking would… well… turn the tracking on. While there is a separate “track target” command, there is no rhyme or reason to the auto-tracking not auto-tracking when it is turned on.

• Tracking camera does not toggle. If you are tracking a target, turning the tracking camera off does not turn the tracking camera off — all it does is ensure that the next time you pick an object, that object is not being tracked. You still have to break the tracking manually. This holds true for both the auto-track, and single-track commands.

• Look camera does not toggle. Same thing here: if you are looking at a target, repeating the action does not turn the look camera off; quite the opposite. Turning look off is a separate action. This is particularly silly since, unlike the tracking camera, the “selected objects” panel actually does offer a functional toggle — it just doesn't carry over to the camera shortcut.

• FoV adjustments are insanely limited. While the shortcut for adjusting FoV is more convenient than the old Ctrl-Alt-RL-Mouse Drag, the actual range of the adjustment is crippled to hell. You used to be able to look right down the throat of a station undock from 500km away (a pretty important feature for properly lining up insta-undocks); now even the most narrow zoom still leaves the station a speck in the distance. The old keyboard combination is still there, but offers the exact same adjustment and is therefore pointless.

• Still not independent RClick-slewing of the camera that lets you quick-look away and then snap back to your previous direction.

• Still no equal and linear acceleration on zoom, pan, and tilt.

• Camera resets and changes still aren't instant, and instead involve some insipid and drunken camera move to shift the camera over to the new object. Even with all fancy effects and inertia turned off, you spend time looking at nothing rather than the thing you're asking the game to show you.

But two things have been fixed at least:

• Settings like the tactical overview seem to persist between mode switches.
• Minimum inertia offers a useful camera stability.

Conclusion, same as before: just fully reimplement every last bit of functionality of the old camera, because it is still in every way vastly superior to all new camera modes combined. If you absolutely must have a tactical view to make the new carrier drone UI make sense, and you feel very strongly about having a dynamic view for movie making, then that's fine. They're secondary to the point of utter and complete irrelevance compared to having a basic camera that works, though, so get working on that part some time much later when you've refactored the old camera fully into the new system.

New camera is not ready for prime-time and remains turned off.

That was 8 months ago in the feedback thread
