Holy cow you're triggering so many people. General Discussion or not, this is going to end up in flames.

A cloaked hotdropper is a threat, but:

1. Right now he's just "a cloaked" because you haven't seen a cyno yet.

2. You aren't even bothering to try to assess how BIG a threat by baiting him to get some info about his ship and friends. Seriously, just the timezone would be worth risking a few million ISK worth of cheap-fit mining barges.

3. First you ask CCP to change the game for you, and now you're posting like a petulant child.

Op success for this afk cloaker, whoever he is. I mean, you posted in the most visible official subforum, he's bound to see it. Go post on Reddit, see what they say. Maybe they'll commiserate and give you ISK and upvotes to make you feel better.

1. It's not risky, nothing is risky when you are fighting on your owns terms unless you want the risk.

2. No, logging in is not playing the game, no matter how much you pretend it is just to carry on the argument.

3. A cloaked hotdropper is a threat. Not debatable.

4. Are you trying to say I shouldn't be worried about being ganked in a carrier? LOL. Go away troll.

1) Hotdropping into enemy space where they have more potential support and logistics and can prevent you leaving, is not risky? Explain.

2) Logging in means you are playing the game. Whether you are afk for bio-break, work or asleep is irrelevant.
When you login, your character is in EVE. Period. EVE doesnt care if you are at your keyboard, or not.

3) Yes, its a threat. So what?

4) Im saying you should be worried.
You are the one trying to argue you shouldnt have to be worried.

5) How much isk/hr do you earn carrier farming?

6) How many times have you lost a carrier to a hotdrop whilst farming?

1. I know who he is and what he is flying.

2. How can you bait someone who is afk. Do you think is reasonable to bait for hours and hours because he hasn't finished work yet?

3. I wouldn't have to post like a child if you people actually understood what I was saying so I didn't have to correct you all every single time.

...and I'm only triggering you guys because you don't understand what the conversation is.

I'm not asking CCP to change the whole game for me. I'm asking for a counter-play to an afk cloaker, there is no counter-play that exists in the game at the moment.

Does it sound reasonable to have an entire fleet on standby just in case the guy isn't afk?....Does it sound reasonable to even try to have a defense fleet when he is capable of dropping more firepower than I can handle anyway?

The only 'option' available is to leave the system until he moves. Does that sound like a good game mechanic to you? Be honest.

You answered your own question:
1) Move
2) Stay docked
3) Field/arrange defence
4) Fly something cheap
5) Ignore them and continue.

5. Ignoring you.

Typical move in one of theses threads. Plug your ears and ignore anyone who disagrees with you.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Read the thread. I replied to him more than anyone else in this thread and he didnt acknowledge a single thing I said and misinterpreted everything because he couldn't be bothered to read what I wrote.

Don't be so stupid. You want me to make a bait ship and a standing fleet capable of taking down whatever he decides to drop, and attempt to bait him for hours on end when is may not even be at the computer, and this sounds like a reasonable option does it? Yet being able to track down an afk cloaker is an outrageous idea to you?

But yes of course, it just means I have no balls, and hotdroppers have such big balls to drops a blops fleet on a single proceurer. Get lost troll.

A player that's not even there sure is a great threat...

Like I said, you have plenty of options, you just don't want to utilize them and instead cry on the forums for CCP to handhold and babysit you. All you're accomplishing here is that people see your tears and will make sure that you're afk camped anywhere you go.

The problem isn't afk cloaking, the problem is instant and effortless intel in the form of local chat and mind games. You fear something that may or may not happen and instead of adapting to the situation by either taking out cheap ships that are easily replaced, or utilizing any of the other options available to you, you decide to be a risk-averse coward.
The problem is you and your mentality.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

All these options yet you can't name one that doesn't involve 40 players waiting around for 8 hours incase the afker decides to uncloak lol. Keep trolling.

What is stopping those 40 players to make ISK as a group with a proper PvP fleet setup? Nobody is forcing them to sit around for 8 hours and to do nothing.

Because they would have to be online at the same time.
