I have a "trash" can where I store stuff that I think is so worthless, it's not worth the effort to haul and sell. Usually its estimated value is about 5-10 million ISK. Today I logged on and its value was estimated at 20 billion. I moved it to Amarr and Jita, and it sold for roughly that amount. It was mostly drops from exploration drone sites...

WTF just happened?

Elite Drone AI?

... also the other drone parts spiked in value due to the enormous demand created by the new excavator Rorqual drones.

Not the drone AI, those only started dropping from the sites I was running for the last month or so, but it looks like all the other gunk I've been collecting for the last few years is suddenly needed for those new excavator drones. Usually I'd say my hoarder mentality is a bad habit...

Salvage prices are also significantly up from where they _used_ to be.

Post some of your wallet entries on the bigger transactions, so we can see? You can also just look at the item history and track which ones spiked in value.

Hoard everything! :D

If there was salvage, I think it may have been the Contaminated Lorentz Fluid (might have botched the spelling). I dunno what changed about it, but when I came back to the game a couple months back I had 3 billion worth of just that in my home station, and I know I would have sold it long before that.

go to your wallet journal, look for highest ISK sales, look at the price history for those items.

Oh yes. Rigs for citadels and engineering complexes routinely need huge quantities of salvage - think 1500 each of several items.
