Another thread that was locked because administrators don't want to deal with valid criticism of the game. Instead of simply removing offending posts, they shut down entire discussions. Bravo.

So what if people are ranting and not respecting each other? If the game is really supposed to be "designed to be [a] harsh" environment that is "not for the fient of heart", then why aren't people allowed to discuss any topic all they want without someone arbitrary coming in and deeming a thread too unsightly for our virgin eyes, while at the same time telling critics of the game to "HTFU". As long as its not genuinely disruptive (IE spamming) or discriminatory, why should there be a need to silence such a discussion?

HTFU yourself.

In case you can't tell, this is what everyone sees who isn't drinking the Kool-aid:

Players: Allowing scams is trash and makes you game look like a mismanaged joke.

CCP: HTFU

Players: Suicide gankers and griefers have it way too easy in EVE. They have totally negligible risks for potentially enormous rewards (EI: freighter ganking) and can even fly into your mission in high sec and blow up your mission objectives solely to grief you, leaving you without any realistic recourse.

CCP: HTFU

Players: Bumping is an act of aggression against another player where the aggressor doesn't have to put themselves at any risk, they do this by repeatedly ramming into your ship to prevent it from aligning to warp. To combat this ridiculous mechanic, you will need multiple computers and accounts so that you can hopefully use an offensive module on your own ship (web) that will actually speed up the time your ship enters warp in order for you to escape before your ship is destroyed by numerous less expensive ships which sacrifice themselves as a cost in order to to blow up your yours, most often used as a form of griefing rather than profit.

CCP: HTFU

HTFU philosophy is pure bullshit hypocrisy. Any thinking person who understands the game can can see that harsh environment really only applies to non-aggressors in EVE. Aggressors have ways of limiting their risk so that they never face the potential consequences of their actions, or pay them negligibly, such as what is done with "suicide ganking".

The real reason scamming is allowed is because CCP is unwilling to spend the money to police it.

Not really. You are perfectly safe inside a station and practically in the protected channels of null space. A perfect and practical safety that is not found in other full loot pvpmmorpgs games that I have played, such as Darkfall Online, that actually require player skills.

Its not exciting having to worry about suicide gankers, it is just aggravating seeing aggressors having all the advantages and leaving you without any realistic or meaningful retaliation. There are no full loot pvpmmorpgs in existence where you "play the hero". This is more absolute garbage rhetoric.

In before another thread locked for complaining, AKA "ranting", and breaking arbitrary rules numbered 2 through 7.

Discussing moderation is forbidden, and by page 11 of that thread it was obviously going nowhere hence the lock. Discussions on these forums are generally, supposed to be, for a reason.

To your other points, you obviously want eve to be something other than what it is. That's your own problem. Have a stoic attitude when playing this game, think only in terms of 'what is in my control?'.

This post brought to you by CCP's alpha forum alt initiative. Playing the eve forums has never come cheaper.

Yeah HTFU is not the best philosophy for growing a business, but hey, I appreciate the slight ironic tone to the thought process.

And it made for a funny song by Permaband of CCP records...
