So, today my other character Jon (the explorer)
finally got some loot!

Went through so many wormholes I started to smell like one!

Why? Because lost (again).

Had a Relic site all by myself. Got 2 hacked and that gave me
over 10 mill. ISK.

So how in hell would I get my hacking success rate above 1 in 10?

Also, how do I best get rid of those pesky guardians at data-sites?

Jon is Omega flyin Heron. Only having Core Probe Launcher I, basic probes.
Data and Relic analyzer I. Damage Control I. 2 x Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I.

Astrometric Pin. Range ans Acq on 3
Astrometrics 4
Archaeology 4
Hacking 4

OP you keep making these threads about the most everyday of things and asking questions that are beyond basic.
Maybe you could bother one of the many newbro-friendly groups in the game or even avail yourself of the Help Channel, as a new thread every few days telling and asking about entry level stuff would kill the forums if everyone did it.

Or is this some gonzo type of journalism, where the most interesting thing about what you're doing is the fact that you're doing it?

Well, it seems EvE has grown on you. Good to see, that you actually have taken up the challenge to learn this game.

With that being said, your first posts here was hardly inspiring to any newbro. Yeah, I remember your "Thanks and goodbye for now" thread.

I wanted to like this game so much but the beginning was such a slap in the face.

Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I found exploration to be just TERRIBLE for making isk, hell I think I made more isk doing any other activity in the game. Still I'll admit it was fun to try out, and the skills are still useful for scanning down players for pvp.

10m per can seemed about the same amount I was making per can. With the very rare can giving upwards of 40m. Sadly it paid so badly I think even mission running in highsec paid more than exploration in nullsec.

The OP's rise from "change the game to suit me" to "Holy Sheet! I Get EvE NOW!!" has actually be rather enjoyable for me. To be honest, jokes aside, new players not bothering to use the forums is what's killing them these last few years.

Once again, thank you all.

Staying alive and scanning down signatures has been... I dont want to use the word easy
but it wasnt as hard as I thought.
Takes a lot of work, being true to the "rhythm" and in case of ANY threat just bail.

The problem is hacking and killing.

Dont want to use too expensive equipment and the capacitor cant handle so much.

Yes. It is tedious to say the least. Better than mining or shipping.
If I could get my hacking skills better and implement Data sites
then I would maybe do that 100 mill a run.

Might try rat-hunting next, with Trasch.

Wow, what an unfriendly response to a new player who may still be deciding whether to stick around or to find another game. Threads like these, while simple questions, could well hold valuable responses for many other new players wondering the same thing.

Couple days ago having like 30 minutes of free time undocked with scanning ship. Found drug laboratory. Switched to carrier and cleaned the site in 5 minutes. Then visited the place with scanning ship and hacked all the cans. Got like 400 million in skillbooks.

Good for wasting some free time Lol But yeah... I would not use exploration as main activity
