Why is there no option to BUY a ship? Like in RSI?
For example, an Astero could cost 100 eur. You get the right to fly it (as an alpha), one BP (?), and the right to buy and train the skills.
If you like to further limit things (making more money) you put a limit of 20 (?) Asteros. After you've lost it 20 times, you pay again 100 eur.
It just an example! And let's remember 100eur is about 7 months of subbing. Any thoughts on this?

Because that would break the game in about 17.different ways. For 100e you can play for nearly a year on a sub. Just do that maybe?

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

no i dont want you to go away, that means i wont get your stuff, know what really amazes me is people like you cant read the description of what this game actually is, you cant accept that someone can kill you when you are doing your own thing and you dont like it.

You blame other people because you choose not to take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and want the game changed to favour your own gameplay without any consideration for other peoples gameplay.

EVE is a full blown pvp game where you can be engaged anywhere, accept it because its not changing because you want to solo play an mmo

right.....

there it is the EVE is a pvp game "argument".....

you mean this could not be changed?

really.....

"EVE was so for 13 years and we don't need a change"......this is no argument this is defending a status quo that does not work anymore.....

Look around...other games act like nannies and have success with it.....no need to copy them you say?

maybe.....

but at least we could just stop this stupid "eveyone kills everyone" focus of the game because THIS is simply not modern anymore.....

I'm not giving word for a transformation of this game into a "your actions are without consequences crap".....but if you just want pve....you should be able to and don't get bothered beeing forced to play a part of the game you don't want or like......

Everybody should play his way.....if you want to shoot at each other like brainless zombies you will find another brainless zombie right around the corner....but leave everyone alone that don't share your strange hobby......

bottom line.....

The "bottom line" is that you're entering a game that has 13 years of history and development and demanding that it completely reverse its philosophy. Why not take your own advice and "look... Around..." Rather than expect ccp to dump their existing customer base, their brand, their development investment and the whole point of the original EVE project in pursuit of an imaginary set of customers who might play EVE if they did.

honestly, I would love to know how long it took most Omegas reach T2 small weapons. I know I did not train into those until at least a year or more of playing EVE. Now granted, I had more options than an alpha account and some of that time was training skills that are now gone. Still, given the reduced training time of an alpha, I don't see T2 small weapons as a must have. This is especially true given the fitting requirements and limited fitting skills available to alphas. If anything, T2 weapons should be the last skill you would train and the one that really helps drive you to wanting to subscribe.

So no I don't think alphas should have T2 guns. Many of us survived in space in both PvE and PvP for years without T2 guns. Alphas can easily do the same.

It's a long time ago now, and sp/hr was generally rather lower* than it is in these halcyon days of free learning skills, attribute remapping and learning boosters, but iirc it was around the 6 or 7 month mark for me.

*2000 sp per hour was seen as acceptable, anything over 2100 was excellent.

There's only 1 weapon system I think an argument for T2 can be made and that is blasters because of Null S. Even then, as has been said countless times, Alpha is for a taste, not the whole thing. You want full access, you pay for full access. Every other weapon system is just fine with Meta 4.

The trick with alpha clones is to gang up. You got T2 guns, I got the bro in a griffin. If alphas got T2 guns they would still get owened by pirat ships, if they could get into pirat ships they would still get owened by T3 and to on and so on..

Obviously, you can't gripe free stuff. I applaud the alpha clone move. I really meant, don't you think CCP would make more cash by making alpha clones decent? T1 frigs with T2 guns still aren't shock and awe.

I want to play Eve, but I want to get my cheap friends to play. But I don't want to ask them to play if they basically gimped for life.

Maybe I should just trick them, and tell them free accounts are pretty awesome for PVP... and once they get addicted hope they pay?

Essentially, CCP gets 3-4 players with 1 paying.... though there's always potential for more. It's marketing.

No one likes an empty world either. Free players = targets. So paid players have more "content".

I think Eve would thrive more with alpha clones having more skills, and CCP would probably make more cash. Obviously they researched it thoroughly, and they don't agree with me. I'm probably wrong.

And you shouldn't ask them. You should leave them be and let them work.

If you can't afford 15$ on games per month, then you have some other priorities in life you probably should consider first, instead of spending your time playing EvE.

Why is a "just leave them alone" so hard to understand for some people here?

I don't get this.....

Is your fear to have to low kill rates?

Is it that you fear the opportunity to loose if you have no pve fittet prey anymore?

Is it that you fear to open pandoras box filled with even MORE -sigh- mmo solo mode parts?

Is it that you fear EVE could change and you loose your neck of the woods?

What is it?

Tell me.....

Please.....

I can't await your pure wisdom.....

This is a working economy, based on things getting blown up and conflict. Just leave me alone is actually a bad thing in the long run towards the game's economic stability. I've played for many years and seen the economy swing around wildly. I've watched the impact of mining botters screw up the market.

Just leave me alone, I want to farm missions with my super blinged ship with no risk so that I can dump millions of free isk in the market with no risk. I want my safe space to do just what I want without hurting anybody... but in truth, if you are not part of the game, you are part of the problem, but most people are too self-centered when whining about being 'picked on' to realize the greater consequences. I actually quit playing Eve for a few years because, as a solo player, we kept getting hit by the nerf bat. Our PVE activities were having undesired impacts on the whole of the game.

Having played solo for years, I have never been ganked in high-sec.I have continued to play while under war decs, including mining operations, but I was smart about it and most aggressive players are too lazy to chase you very far. If you are getting picked on, move somewhere else in the game. With all the public station up now, you can go just about anywhere.

The point of alpha clones is to entice people to pay for omega. That is all.

This, this and again this.

Let's remember, CCP is not a charity, it's a company trying to make some money and is accountable to investors and shareholders. Alpha is just a means to Omega.

More Alpha's means more chance of converting to Omega, if you don't go Omega CCP still has to pay it's bill for you to play, perhaps consider returning the favor.

CCP does not stand for Charitable Capsuleer Patronage

I have been able to plex my accounts for years, however i have not done so as I have no problem paying them the money i spend, it's good entertainment money, and when times required it i was able to suspend paying until such a time as i returned.

Now i at least have the beneift of enjoying Alpha status at those times and still can wholly enjoy the game.

Fly safe.
