The problem with several monitors is that
they have to be the exact same otherwise you will
get color and brightness differences.

Depends what you're doing with them, and if you're willing to play with the settings.

Running 3 different clients? Really not a problem. 1 client, 1 chat program, 1 web browser, not a problem. One spanned client, maybe a problem. (though I didn't notice much)

I should have been more precise. If you expand Eve across several
monitors it will look bad.

I actually have 2 monitors for Eve. Second monitor only for Google
and 3rd party software.

If I had the money I would get 34" 21:9 monitor in a heartbeat.

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

Thanks everyone for the great input and feedback.
I failed to mention i just upgraded my GPU to a Radeon R9 fury for extra GPU power.

Don't know much about monitors but have you considered your digital TV?
I run EvE at full resolution on the family 50" Panasonic TV and it looks awesome and the text is nicely rendered. I had to increase the font size by 1 in settings but yeah, very nice.

Otago

I have not but that is very interesting. What type of GPU power is required for that?

I highly recommend 2 monitors.

You can span Eve across both, or have it running in one, and use the other for something else (which might be another eve client, or your web browser, where you can do something like run netflix ;) )

One big monitor is nice enough, but it doesn't give you more _space_ to do things (unless it's 4k) it just makes things larger.

That is very appealing. Two monitors for multi-tasking instaed of alt-tabbing out. Definitely a plus there.

go with the 34", you will not regret it

I am strongly attracted to 34", the LG one for some mysterious way. :

If you have the pixel pushing power, either one is fine moving from a 24".

Here's the thing about 34/35"ultrawide currently. If you are moving to one from a 27" or larger monitor you'll be disappointed because the screen height is only just over 13 inches. A 27" has a vertical screen height of nearly 15". It doesn't sound like much, but it's really noticeable and was a deal killer for me when shopping ultrawides.

Having said that, my eye now falls on this . 38 inches of curved, IPS, 75 Hz, eye popping 21:9 glory. Sadly, it's only available with Freesync and not Gsync right now. So I'll be waiting a while yet to purchase one.

Mr Epeen Cool

That is a awesome monitor....holy crap...big to.

One more monitor i found while sitting at the airport today, catching up on things:

LOVE the bezel on this thing. Almost invisible. Two of these side by side could be awesome. However, it is 4K display and my concern would be Eve text would like microscopic making my eyes pop out. That is initially why i linked the ASUS 27" 1440P monitor because i thought the it may display text better in Eve (more legible, not so small).
Please correct me if i am wrong on the above paragraph.

Thanks again everyone. Fantastic help.

Cheers,

I use 150% UI scaling, the maximum, and legibility is fine. For chat windows you can also use different font sizes (I think I'm at 14; maybe 15). If you leave UI scaling at 100% it will be too small unless you're absolutely hawk-eyed.
