Drones not fighting

I use two hornet drones on my venture to kill rats. Sometimes the rats jam me and since venture has no sensor strength I will always be jammed. So what do my drones do? Fight valiantly against these enemies like true heroes! No, they just keep orbiting me... I have a shield booster running stable so I'm not in a pod if this happens and I'm not paying attention but it is very annoying to have to warp to a new belt every time my drones decide to do nothing. My drones are on aggressive too.

If your drones are in space and set to aggressive, they should attack the moment you are red-boxed. In my experience, they will not attack if launched after you are targeted.

It only seems to happen when rats are already in the belt so that's probably why. Thanks :)

You have drone settings, a little window at the top left of your drone window. (Looks like a menu) You have to set them for
Aggressive
Focus Fire.

Default is passive unless you set them.
