Pirate LP Farming

Hello all. I'm trying to build into mission farming right now and I've got two routes I can go. I am interested either in running L5 missions and actually found a decently safe side of space with little traffic, (mostly because the LP for the agent isn't very valuable aside from Implants) or running Pirate Faction missions. I have 2-3 alts prepared to run the missions in moderately expensive ships to reduce the cost of any losses from my carelessness. However I am more interested in running Pirate Missions. I know this space is notoriously hostile and most of the information I google on it is 3+ years old. I'd love to get some advice on either prospect but primarily on Pirate Mission farming. Are there certain corps I could join to minimize my risk? Is a Tengu the best ship to run these missions still? Give me some advice please!

T3s are the best bet, they allow you to have a very safe travel (Cloak+Null) fit while still a having tank/DPS to run lvl4s efficiently. The best ship will depend on the faction you are fighting (Tengu for everything except Blood/Sansha/Amarr/Drones, the Legion might be better for them and Ammo is much smaller)

Other than that you can pretty much apply the same as running DEDs or generally living in Null.

Have safes in system and go to them if you are spooked (don't want to be blopsed when you warp to a gate or some such),
D scan for combats whenever there is someone in system.
Learn the locals
Always travel fit when moving (people will learn you movements and even 1 jump could mean your death)
9/10 times if someone is hunting you they have a lot of backup, best not to try and kill a Prot/tengu even if you do have 3 chars in the mission and think you can take him)

Will the Cloak and Null gimp the fit too much? I'm guessing the Amarr rats would be a problem for Blood Raiders and Sansha missions?

Carry a Mobile Depo and refit in space/station unless its very very fast mission. Covert ops and Null Subs nerf you DPS down to like ~300.

I have not run blood/sansha missions but i would assume they are mostly against Amarr. If you only want 1 ship the Tengu is the best all rounder but its wosrt Tank is EM and its DPS is nerfed to anything but Kinetic (most Rats have Kin as their Primary or secondary hole barr the ones I mentioned).

I used to run pirate missions in Curse.

A Tech3 Cruiser is a must IMO. like Andrew said, carry a mobile depot.

some tips from my time as a pirat eLP farmer.

-NEVER go to the same safe spot, in fact I would book mark wrecks in my missions to use as futuresafe spots. People will hunt you and many have alts with max scanning skills and implants for the sole purpose of catching mission runners in NPC null.

-Pick your agents well. There are places with multiple lvl 4 pirate agents in one station. use those, decline missions as needed and 'cluster' your missions. In other words, try to get multiple missions in the same system. When i live din curse I would have as many as 6 missions in one system.

-Unless its something super quick and blitz-able like "Recon", avoid doing missions in your home system unless system is empty, people tend to cluster around the systems with good agents.

-ALWAYS use insta undocks and insta dock book marks, and even if cloaky/nullified warp to a ping above a gate, it's jsut good practices and doesn't take too much time. Gaining LP isn't the number one priority, safety is.

-Even with a cloaky nullified set up, if yo can have a cloaky scout watch the gate you are about to jump through, do it, again, safety 1st.

-Don't stay too long in any mission and learn which ones to decline. People will hunt you and they have creative ways of finding you that minimizes the time their probes will be visible to you.

-Lastly, use a service like black frog to get your LP acquired loot to empire. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone stuff loot in a cloaky nullified T3 just too see it get blown up moving it to high sec, caught because of a bad server tick or disconnect.

Hope that helps.

I currently do lvl4 missions in curse.
Our alliance and our friends are currently somehow "Holding" one of the only two Serpentis security lvl 4 missions points in new Eden.

A few alliances and corps are blue towards us, and usually, in OSY, the system we settle in, there aren't usually other players passing through.

Most missions are either in local, or one jump away at G-G and H-A.
In G-G there are also mining missions, which can be done at very low risk with ships somewhat very hard to be scanned down.

Ok back to Security missions.
We settled down for almost or more than two years i guess. We have come to agreement of the best ship to do lvl4 missions. The most effective is the Rattlesnake and Tengu. T3C are always a good choice due to all those cool and useful bonuses. The Rattlesnake is the most efficient and widely used with many people here, due to the flexibility between drones and missiles. I personally use a Rattlesnake, so Im sorry not to be able to go too deep into the Tengu.

We usually take use of the drone damage buff more. We increase the Sentry drone optimal range by adding enhancer or link computer modules, use a MJD after entering the missions space(only if the rats are too near), clear rats and warp to the gate. By that we need two or more DLA in the high-slot, and have cruse missile launchers for some extra DPS. A standard Fit for this might give around 500~700 DPS with T2 Fits, 4 DDA's.

I personally, don't fit a MJD. I would like to face tank rats, and so far it works fine for me. I put out a little less than 1000 DPS, half missiles and half drone damage. I fit some Faction or pirate modules (The cheapest ones) so it is a Cap stable fit while i am running the MWD or Shield Booster.

Be aware that some missions are extremely dangerous, some even require carriers to finish.

Switch the Shield towards specific rats, remember to drop MTU when dealing with Empire enemies, they sometimes give out more than 100 M loot in one single missions....

For safety, it is mostly safe, if u keep one D-Scanning and looking at local. Make sure you can see probes in your d-scan, and when u see one, be ready to warp out. But if you can find a corp that is dominating the area of pirate missions, it shouldn't be too dangerous.

Also be aware that some Pirate corps LP aren't worth a lot...
