Hi there! Hi station traders. How you calculate average price of bought items? Now I open wallet transaction log and then transfer all deals to excel. Then I calculate average price for each position. It's so hard. I can't imagine what will happen when I will use more orders. I think my system breaks down :)
Is there any soft, programs or scripts where I can automatically calculate average price?

Thanks a lot, sorry for my English.

Hi Krel.

Your english is good, better than my Russian anyway.

Have you seen https://eve-central.com/

This gives prices for all systems rather than regional prices so you can see what your stuff will sell for (if you are prepared to haul it...

ty for you answer. Yep, I know about eve-central. But I have another problem.

example.

I bought one item. It may be 1 x Inetrial stabilizer. Price 1000 Isk. Then I bought another one. Price 500 ISK. Now I have 2 stabilizers and their average price = (1000+500)/2=750 ISk for 1 stabilizer. Right?

I want buy more than 5 positions. And for all positions I need average price of bought items

I googled all possible sites for 4 days in english and russian web. I watched all videos on youtube in two languages. But no one discuss about average price. How could this happen? I think it's really important topic if you want trade at market. If you buy goods for sale you must know average price for all your positions, I think. Am I wrong? It helps you know your lowest price.

Really nobody calculate this data? Shocked I'm confused. Traders, how you trade if you don't know this data? Or maybe it secret? Or maybe I want much? Or nobody understand me? Ugh

If someone also wants to resolve this issue, let me know here. Let's discuss together how to solve this problem.

Only program I know of that Ive seen so far was "eve mentat" but google search says it might not have been updated since 2015 sometime. So not sure whats out there available atm.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

If you mean tracking how much you have invested per unit in your stock of an item, perhaps there are some premade spreadsheets you can use, or 3rd party inventory tracking programs used by IRL retailers.

Yes! Exactly!

Now I use spreadsheets. And it is very hard work without automation. IRL retailers - in real life retailers? I thought about it. I want know what programs use eve-traiders.

If you use spreadsheets - great. If you use IRL retailer's programs - good. Tell us about this programs. Maybe you use API->spreadsheet. Maybe api->IRL retailer's programs or any other method. Tell us. It will really helpful for newbie eve-traiders.

I think in both cases of a dedicated spreadsheet, or a 3rd party retailer inventory program, you would still have to enter the values manually.

If there is some program that allows a simpler form of copypaste, I dont know of it, much less if there is a program that can draw it from your API.

Sorry, this is the most I can do.

Perhaps try asking in the Market Discussion forum.

Thank you all. I think I need my own script for my needs. :) I see my request very specific. I have started write python script in which I will realize my ideas. I see EVE API provides sufficient functionality for any crazy ideas.

Scipio Artelius, thank you. Service does not provide the necessary functionality for me.

ISD Decoy, you right. This topic about market, trading, soft for trading. ty too.

There are lots of software packages that can read in things like a CSV file and from there you can do all sorts of things. I'm sure some are even free to download. For example R is available under the GNU license and is free. Not sure if it can read in the files you download.

And if it can, what works in CSV or Excel may not work in R, especially the variable names. That is one problem I run into with SAS all the time. Somebody will send me an Excel file and it is in a terrible format for statistical analysis and the Variable names stink (e.g. they'll use variable names like "Trans Revenue 2016" where SAS will often barf, so I have to go in and change it to something like Trans_Rev_2016). And often times it the data is arranged badly for use in statistical anlysis...thank whomever came up with Proc Transpose.

If you have excel, you could use a pivot table. Or failing that, install LAMP / WAMP on your computer and load your transactions into MySQL, it would be a fairly simple calculation for either a pivot table or SQL query.

Yep, SQL queries is good idea too. If needed, I will use SQL queries in the future. However, I think that best solution is a simple python script.
