Hahaha, well the trick to it is to fudge your lip breadth, jaw forward/backward, mouth out/inward, etc.. soooo thats all in the character creation mode, not the portrait mode.

You also have to pick another race/sub that has the mouth structure that enables a passable smile with your pearly whites showing. Not all models has the best wireframes for this.

edit: you say we cant smile, all i wanted was a character that can duckface

In Amarr if you smile, the inquisition pops along to for a chat, a cup of tea, then a little light torture and interrogation. If you survive you get to have a cookie. I have no clue what happens if you actually laugh at something, unless it's some kind of sadistic response to another's misfortune.

The voices in my head told me to post this. Mind you they also tell me to buy chocolate, so it can't all be bad.

There's no sliders so mouth does everything when posing. If you pull the mouth all the way you get teeth and smirks. If uiu want a smile you just want to nudge the sides of the mouth up a little bit.

You can drag it left and right I believe, so up and left, up and right, for a smile.
Down and left down and right for frown. I don't think they do much if you just move it up or down. I don't mess with my expression or rest it cause then i have to redo my eyelids and eyebrows and I already have them evened out where i like them

I'm with the Russians on this one: smiling for no reason other than to look happy makes you look like an idiot. Why would I bother smiling when I can brood handsomely?

I reject the authority and legitimacy of the New Order of Highsec. I will mine when I want, where I want and take as much as I want. Buy your mother a permit and go do some real PvP!
