There was a time when these were dependable options. But after some many nerfs and buffs of things...the current result is just not a pretty picture of practicable field use.

First off the turrets.

AC's in the T1 line are not that bad. Damage is equal to Pulse but with better tracking and a little less range, with a wide selection of damage type.

T2 AC's how ever...neither ammo has a bonus to tracking, one is only 5% less negative tracking. This makes them near a waste compared to Blasters. Also forcing most AC users to use Tracking T1 ammo instead to pull ahead of the crowd in something.

Artillery...does not matter, T1 or T2 as aside from max dmg per hit and better tracking at shortest range with T2 ammo. They are about the same in everything else. They can miss Structure that have 0 Velocity and 4000 Signature Radius =.= ...How ?? This ability to miss a static large target lowers their fusibility in taking said target out in favor of other choices.

Medium Arts dmg and dps are barely better then Small Arts...just 1/3 the tracking and double the range. Medium art has another problem of being out DPS'd and Alpha'd at the same range by RHML's on the BS hulls.

Large Art does have the highest dmg potential of instant hit at the longest range. But the tracking is the worst of all weapons and the fire rate is again the worst of all....the two together gives them the worst applicable DPS. This makes weapons of any type better then them until you reach of farthest reachable range...which if in PvP they can be Warped on.

All small weapons are general equal across all choices. With a small 5% adjustment if there is any.

--- The hulls designed for Art use should have Tracking and Rate of Fire bonus with Dmg added in the T2 versions. While the AC hulls with Falloff and Damage/Rate of Fire bonus with Tracking added for T2 versions. This would help improve projectile usefulness on Min ships using them.

The ships.

T1 is where all the Missile fit boats are which is only 5, one of them doesn't do that well as it's seen as an EW ship so it's tank suffers. Fleet and T2 are all but 3 pure Turret fit =.= Something that should be addressed if Missile is going to be the intended Second best weapon choice.

Third biggest user of Drones, Alpha clone can't make use of that. Here either Min Alpha needs use of Med drones or Min ships need a buff to cover for the loss of using said drones. Even if no bonus to Drone use on the hulls...the fact of them there to give that much to dps or tracking is what matters.

Min ships still are looking set-up to use Speed Tanking going by HP numbers. But going by ship bonus and base velocity...this is not looking good. The lowered ability to get as much speed tank as they use to with barely more base HP makes them soft targets and not able to handle as well as others in tougher fights like: C4 Wormholes, PvP, and Incursions. Some T2 and Fleet versions are comparable tank to others...but the turrets not so much.

Some Min ships still have a place and a use, but the window is small. Biggest window Min ships have is taking on ships of small hull sizes. But when faced to equal hull sizes...the others win.

Some Min ships with current bonus's and hull specs are in a just terrible place. Rupture and Tempest o.O Where do they shine, RoF and Dmg bonus...this is not ideal for either Art or AC. Rupture is too slow to make good use of ACs. Turret bonus is not ideal to either.

I find myself pretty content with med & large arty in practical useage.

Medium ACs are laughabke though.

Is it irony that some of the worst tracking weapons are supposed to be used on some of the quickest ships?

It is good, but not great because in order to excel at any role it has to give up a lot. It has some of the best bonuses to damage, but to really use them you have to tank it with a weak shield or armor fit. On the other hand you can put a decent Armor tank on it for great utility, but then you are giving up on a lot of it's damage, and wasting it's bonuses.

It can likely excel with an Artillery fit, but it's resources are so tight that to do so requires a lot of expensive modules to still fit a decent tank. So much so that it may be more worthwhile to just upgrade to a Machariel.

What do you want a T1 BS to be then? If I remember correctly in armor fit it should be able to do something around 800 dps (no gyros) have 2 high utility for neuts and all them meds to be fitted to all your heart's content, all that for less than 300 mill too if I'm not mistaken. (Mac's hull should only start at 300 mill)
