Citadels not on overivew?

I noticed in one hi-sec system I was in that I cannot see one of a citadels on the overview until I fly to it, but I can see others. I only noticed it because it was on the solar system map while scanning. Is there a mechanic that allows them to be hidden?

Private citadels do not show on the overview.

You can still see an icon in space on your scanning overlay though, and warp to it.

Basically the ones you can see on overview while off grid, are the ones you can dock at.

How about the right click menu > structures menu? I've seen ec/citadels listed on here as well.. same dockable/displayed thingie?

I rarely use the overview for looking at citadels (small display booo) so I look for citadels at the rightclick menu.

Yep, same rule applys here too,
if it's set to public it'll show in the right click.
If not then itll only show if you have been given docking rights and only to those who have them.
Same applies for the structure browser.

They all always show on the scanner overlay as a blue mark on the cumpas and as blue bracket in space if your UI is set up to show those.
