General settings for Alphas,?

A few days ago I was messing around with one of my alpha characters. Realized I still had the window blur settings turned on, so I went into the general settings to kill the blur and make my window color match the ship.
The blur option is there but not the setting for having the window change color based on the ship.
My omega accounts still have the option. So why did CCP spend development time ether to remove this option from Alphas or am I missing something? I also can no longer find the settings folder on my computer that allows me to duplicate my UI across multiple characters (the launcher does not support it).

I need to do some more digging when I get time.
I use a mac, but as EVE is run using wine, the set up is the same.

Alphas are restricted to the black color theme, and basically all the options related to color choices are removed from the Alpha control panel interface.

I guess CCP imagined that their dark and gritty color schemes are reason for people to go Omega, but truth be told they all kinda suck, and the best-looking option is still the black.

They went and removed our unrestricted color sliders, and since then they've only made bad and worse decisions about UI coloring.

Wow i was unaware of this, what a stupid design decision. I guess the colorblind / sight impaired have to upgrade to Omega to train ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO SEE THE GAME.. Roll

CCP!

Here is a great idea how to get people screaming for Omega.

Alpha ingame color.

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

I'm all for limiting Alpha capabilities but if this is actually true it's dumb as hell.

Doesn't make sense to restrict basic client functionality. Why make the general game experience a nuisance and risk to antagonize potential new customers, if I want them to suscribe?

Remove standings and insurance.

True. Don't think people will upgrade to Omega just because an Omega can change the UI colours....
So CCP do us all a favour, change this. It's the ships that make people want to be Omega, not the UI.

And there has been at least three separate instances I've seen of color blind people being unable to play because of not having access to color options to make menus/text they can see clearly.

Well, I don't know about color blindness, but for me the "Dark Matter" black/white Alpha scheme has the best contrast.

All of the other color schemes have some sort of grey shade as the window background, so the text is white on grey or white on light-puke-green, or yellow on light brown, or other such low contrast ****** combinations. Dark Matter has the best black background (and I'm also running with no transparency and no blur).
