Goods Importation Reward - For Engineering Complexes (and Citadels)

Just a noob talking... but...

1 - You (Corp) own a Citadel or Engineering Complex.
2 - You set the system to pay an automatic reward for anyone selling items in your station.
3 - You can select which items will receive this reward (maybe by "product class"). Example: you pay rewards for people importing minerals.
4 - Rewards can be percentages (0.1% of total price) or fixed for quantities.

I believe this would make markets less concentrated in huge trade hubs.

Is this much different than putting a buy order above market price and then selling them yourself?

Thank you,

What I'm saying is different in the sense that:

1. You don´t know what you´re going to pay for.
1.1. It can even be any product of the market. Probably just a category or two, like any kind of ship, mineral, ore...
1.2. It would be the equivalent of a "buy anything order" (or "buy anything in the category of drones") in your argument.

2. You don´t know how many you´re going to pay for (only the maximum ISK per day / per week / per month).

3. You don´t need to have "all" of the amount of the product, just part of it. For a product of billions, you might pay just some millions and it is available at your market.

Nothing against this idea. There are existing alternatives to though i.e. buying the items yourself and reselling and then you can also lower market tax in your citadel. It is pretty much the same and attracts traders in the same way.

When it comes to visualising it, how will people know a station has this offer?

Well, what I´m seeing in Maurasi (and others too) is that markets in "Citadels" (lato sensu) are almost empty. I don't think that using 0.0 taxes and would fix the issue (of empty markets).

The problem with buying and then selling is that it is limited to the will of the owner and not open to the reality of the market itself. For example you might want to buy ships to sell... ok... but you not aware that in your system there is a huge producer of drones and he is travelling far away to buy the necessary items and to sell what he produces.

About visualising... I don´t really know, maybe "station billboards" like the ones saying "fly safe" (outside). In the past, as I remember, there were billboards in space (I'm not seeing them anymore, don´t know why). I'm looking at forum posts where people were (2006) complaining of "bumping" into them, but they don't need to have "collision" (rigid body).

It won't.

Some of us like to be able to buy all our stuff in one place for a decent price, not spend half an hour flying around a region to buy everything individually. You aren't going to be able to stop people wanting that, no matter what you do.

Well location affects traffic, and traffic affects trade. Even this idea might not stop the drone seller from hauling to a more populated system. Putting an actual buy order for those drones up would though.

0% taxes are pulling trade out of hubs a little. Citadels close enough to market hubs to be visible are becoming popular places to trade. To the point of being fought over. But its not gonna be a quick change. It'd take years for citadels to rival npc stations for markets, which they may never do due to their destructible nature.

I don't know if there is a csm member interested in this kind of stuff, but it may be worth pitching this to them. Fleshing it out a bit with some feedback from friends and, hopefully, more posts on here can only help.
