Regional buy orders security discrimination

Is there a way to place a regional buy order that ignores low sec stations?

If not is it recommended that you learn to fly cloaky haulers before you place such orders in case they're filled in dangerous areas?

No it does take low-sec with it allways.

Yes you could train one of those transport ships however usually your lowsec price will be so much lower that IF you have enough isk you can just leave that where it is.I usually left it and at a certain point drove up the regional price , then when the competition followed i'd dump all my low-sec stuff on their orders.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

I figured as much.

I've had my head buried in Dotlan looking for strategic systems where a buy order can cover as many high sec systems without dipping into low sec. Is there a tool that is designed specifically for this?

Get a copy of the Ombey EVE 2D maps, print your desired region on paper, get a pencil and start putting down numbers (or alternatively, same story with exporting the page as an image and using something like MSPaint) - put a big 0 on all non-highsec systems, a 1 on all systems directly near a 0, then a 2 on all directly near a 1 and so on and so forth until all the map is full.
The numbers you'll see will represent minimum distance to lowsec.

Did "The Forge" myself recently because I could use it for my own purposes every now and then.

That being said, I hate hauling.

Explanation ?

Best places to set a "range 5" order : Liekuri, Poinen, Nooma - all are at 6j away from any lowsec in the region.
Best places to set a "range 10" order : Hykkota, Urlen, Uitra, Itamo - all are at 11j away from lowsec.

P.S. That is, if I didn't do it wrong. Feel free to double-check. I don't think I missed anything but you never know.

Akita T does it exactly how I do it.

1) All lo-sec systems with a station get marked with a zero.
2) Every system next to an existing number gets the next higher number.
3) Repeat step #2 until you have the entire region filled in (be careful of inter-regional shortcuts)

Then you take the map, figure out where a 5J or 10J radius buy order will intersect with the least amount of low-sec, while also covering the high-sec areas that you want to cover, and make that system your origin point for buy orders.

For instance, in Derelik, the systems of: Tidacha, Alkez, and Agha are all good locations for 5J buy orders. Other regions are a lot harder to get a good fit.

And sometimes, you just accept that 1-5% of your total buy order is going to end up in a lo-sec station. Make sure to buy low and when it piles up, sell it off for a higher price.

As long as you don't trade stuff like Trit or capital parts (huge volume) it's not *that* dramatic to go fetch the stuff in low sec once in a while. Expecially on some items, you can get quite nice deals and discounts over there.

I just wait for couple hours (or days) and sooner or later someone outbids me with his own ranged orders.
Then I dump the sh*t on him and just take care of the highsec deliveries.

Sometimes I find myself in a month long pingpong match with a similarly minded competitor. Doesn't happen too often though..
