it kinda hurts to lose a billion isk pod and you never know who is too drunk to warp it out Blink

some people who pvp use the isk kill amount to determine if your ship has killed more than its worth before it dies

Regarding sec status ... the easiest way I found are "transporter" tags, either hunt the clone soldiers (gives an extra sec boost for killing, and nice bounty) or buy and hand them in at your next DED or Concord office. With those you can keep your sec status just above -2.0 for free highsec travel, everything higher is wasted ISK/effort. Be careful only with "illegal" podding.

BTW, transporter clones in 0.2 lowsec don't point only web. Blink

Most point covered really well by others, only thing I would add is, while you are not going to pod because of the extra sec status hit, make sure you scram the pod and ransom the pilot, they don't know you have no intention of podding them! Pirate

Scraming the pod is aggression, so you will get the same big sec hit whether or not you kill them too.
