Increasing warp speed

Give all ships +2 au/s top speed.

  • Yes all.
  • Ship alignment remains the same.
  • Acceleration remains the same.
  • Difference in speeds across various hulls remains the same (although not as a %).

Why

  • Reduces the time spent on all types of conventional travel.
  • Gives more time for folk to do more interactive play
  • Makes roaming just a little bit more rewarding
  • Means moving assets is less draining
  • Means more time in game is spent doing things with content and less waiting to get there.
  • Same for everyone everywhere in everything

Why not

  • Might upset the Jump Freighter, Jump Bridge crowd
  • You tell me

Alternatively, we could increase the content per system in nearly all systems by oh, 5*.
Making EVE small so everyone dogpiles a single system fight is not good.
Making EVE big but makiing people want to be out in space and meeting each other is good.

Eve already feels to small. They made great progress in fixing this with the warp rebalancing and jump drive changes let's not go backwards

Eve is about patience and planning.

If you want quick content or instant gratification go play wow or lol. I know millennials may not understand this but things you work long and hard to obtain are much more rewarding

I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. Who doesn't love to watch your battleship or capital warp 100AU in just under one hour..

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

100 AU+ systems are kind of rare. We all know this, and yet here were are focusing an argument on the diameter of 9 or so K-space systems. The way we argue things is actually destroying the RL planet we live on. Exaggerators, please return to your corners - you're destroying EVERYTHING.

PROTIP: The fix for this is pretty simple - keep a Taylor Swift 1 minute challenge video open and on standby and tab out to it during those LONG HARD warps. (you may find yourself 'forgetting' something and warping back and forth a few times)

Giving all classes an equal bump (although 2 AU/S seems like a lot) is not the worst idea not sure why you guys are trolling so hard.

2 AU/S is a bit much, doing 10% or 20% accross the board so the differences are equal couldnt possible break the came.

Instant gratification ruins more games than it improves.

Fit for speed? Fly smaller ships?

Well I made some project of tooking battleship into lowsec for some combat exploration. It was good, I was hanging around my HQ but then I got escalation. No other ship than my potato so I took it for a walk. Oh god that 2 AU warp speed and 9 jump pockets. Eternity.
Wrap speed changes make sense, but bigger ships took double nerf, they have high align times too. Using BS for anything than missioning and blobing in null is pointless, or maybe not pointless but boring.

Increases in warp speed does things like:

- Increases mission income
- Increases mining income
- Increases hauling income
- Increases exploration income
- Increases power projection
- Reduces the window a small gang has to attack a group belonging to a larger entity.
- Reduces the window a player has to react to bad guys on d-scan/in local.

And a lot more possible knock-on affects that aren't immediately apparent. What the threshold is for breaking the game i don't know. But it's not a trivial matter, and for the sake of the adhd crowd...I'm hoping this isn't considered. Or if it is, it's for a much better reason.

While overly costly, any ship that end up warping faster than 7 AU/s base speed can technically be made " ghetto d-scan immune" by attaining a modified warp speed greater than the D-scan range inside a single tick.

Boosting every warp speed by 2 would probably put more ships in the realm of possible for this. Some also completely stop needing to be overly costly to make it work.

The very few very large systems are not a big enough problem to go with that kind of fix.

A t1 frig warps faster than 7 au with tech 1 warp speed rigs. Then there are inties and covert ops frigs that get into the teens. Dramiels...

Don't know about d-scan immune because of accel/decel times, but definitely no small change.

+2 warp speed for a freighter is a 500% increase i think.

So boost +2AU for BS and regresive for anthing smaller than BS. BS already are cows in space.

4 AU BS
4,3 BC
4,6 C and so

They are not all that rare particularly in minmatar space I have noticed (used to do a lot of hauling) but I never found them all that problematic even the odd 250 au warp was fine in a freighter.

Why

  • Means moving assets is less draining

Why not

  • Might upset the Jump Freighter, Jump Bridge crowd
  • Makes roaming just a little bit less rewarding
  • Reduces the time spent on all types of conventional travel.
  • Costs less time for folk to do more "interactive play"
  • Means less time in game is spent doing things with content and more preparing for the next content.
  • Affects capital ships and freighters far more strongly than it affects frigates and interceptors.

Fixed that for you.

It is an intuitive argument to suggest reducing the time it takes to get to your destination, because it seems that the travel time is the only thing holding you back from getting there. But reality is not intuitive. Allowing players to get to their destination in less time means the content happens more quickly, many players can't keep up, and it gives the top-ranking veterans even more of an advantage over everyone else. Content becomes more difficult and less forgiving, less people want to play, the people who are good at EVE get tired of it more quickly, and the game dries up quickly.

Personally it's the acceleration of larger ships that I can't stand. Destroyer down is fine, but anything larger than a destroyer ******* blows.

T2 exploration frigs have ridiculous warp speed.

then don't fly larger ships if you can't handle that trade off. I however will continue to do so
