I'm curious about PLH (Pirate's Little Helper) and to see what you all think about it. Is it useful? Are there better applications out there?

I'm not very quick at the gathering intel for each pilot in system part of things so I'm hoping this would speed that process up a bit.

It works well for PVP and locating POS easier but I cannot get the map feature to work. I hope someone is reading this can help me understand how to get the map feature to work. The doc didn't cover it nor did the Youtube vids.

Whenever I click the map icon a large grid comes up with what looks like all the features of PLH yet the boxes are empty of any information.
Well I just figure out one thing. I needed to place a destination into the bar and the map information came up. This was not described anywhere. I still cannot figure out how to get the local information box to fill. I get the Dscan function to work just fine but local does not fill with information.

You don't need a destination, "Go to System" or "Follow Character" have to be selected.
Usually "Follow Character" is the most useful, as it tracks your position on the map.

"Last Local" is the same as the current main window, a list of the last characters you copied to clipboard.
"Selected Local" fills with the last local copy of you for the currently selected system (click on it, to select it)
"Kills in the last hour" contain the kills in the last hour for the currently selected system.
"Map Settings" gives options to configure the map, e.g. change the meaning of the colors (pvp activity, pve activity, pod kills, ...)
"Ships on DScan" show an aggregated view of all ships, if you copy a DScan to your clipboard.

The color of the lines between system indicate real time gatecamp status. More red = more likely a gatecamp is currently on these gates.

Note that you can rightclick on a system for more options and also into the background to relayout the map, if you don't like the current layout.

You can double click on system to expand the map at this point.
