What is the art and science of freighter webbing?

I know how to do it but my first few attempts were hampered by the 10 km limit of the statis webifiers. I pop out of a gate with each ship and always need to spend the time to get within that 10 km limit.

Are there any techniques or skills I should use and know that default the ships to always landing within 10 km or less of each other?

Generally the webbing ship should be on the stargate itself waiting for the Freighter to jump through. That means you only have to travel about 5 to 7 km in any direction.
Fitting Hyperspatial rigs to make your ship warp faster helps you "outrun" the Freighter from gate to gate.
Fitting a MWD helps your ship get into range quicker.

Some other options include:

- overheating the web(s) to get an extra 20% range out of them (note: this will damage the webs over time)

- Get a Vigil Navy Issue, Hyena, or Cruor... all have bonuses to web range and can reach out to ~15 -20km.
- Get a Rapier or Huggin... which are basically bigger, beefier versions of the Frigates listed above.

- Get a Faction web with more range.

thanks to the warp speed changes any ship will easily outrun the freighter to the next gate, the biggest issue I have there is the webbing ship getting stuck on the gate due to recent acts of aggression, as using the webs creates a 1min no jump timer. Luckily the freighter can easily wait out the 1m jump cloak to let the webbing ship get in position. This also gives you time to repair your webs/mwd with nanite repair paste.

due to heat mechanics and you only need to heat for one cycle to get the freighter into warp you likely won't have to repair your mods in space unless on a very long trip.
