Let's do some math. I'm going to use the following prices based on eve-central - 640M for skill injectors, 240M for skill extractors, and 1B for PLEX.

Say you create a brand new character and want to inject your way up to a scan alt like this. That would be 9 injectors up to 5M (500k each) and another 9.5 (let's round down to 9) at 400k each to get up to 8.8M SP.

Those 18 injectors will cost 11.5B total.

Other option is to setup a skill plan and train the skills yourself. If you do int/mem for all the core skills needed for a Covops with cloak, plus the scan skills, and then per/will for Racial Frigate V and Covert Ops IV, it will take 134 days (with +4 implants, so the actual time might be a few days more to train up to Cybernetics IV first).

Sure, that's only 4 PLEX and some change for a total cost of 4B, but then you'd have to wait over 4 months. So the extra 2B on top of the plex cost is convenience for not having to wait without paying the Injector premium.

And those are the options for a buyer. For someone who doesn't have a scan alt that wants one. As a seller, I can either sell here on the forums as is, or extract and sell the 5M character leftover. That would give me 7 total injectors (assuming I didn't train up the last 200k for an even 8) for 2.8B profit, plus around 3B for the 5M character if I leave Cybernetics V in. After transfer fee, I would be looking at 3.8B.

After transfer fee of me selling at 6B is 4B. Oddly close to that 3.8 if I were to extract and sell.

So that's why 6B is my minimum. Anything lower than that and I may as well just do the extract and sell route.

I understand your pricing however you're flawed. The transfer fee is your responsibility and is NEVER counted in any price to allow you to compensate for your loss.

Furthermore You can't extract under 5.5 million sp and there for it's never counted towards the price of an injector. Anything under 5.5 million SP is counted per price of plex per month and the SP per month accumulated.

max amount is 2700SP/h with +5 implants and optimal remapping making it some 23,6mil SP per year assuming you could keep it optimal all the time for a whole year (364d).

That's not even 24m a year, but for this sake we will put it down at 24m / 12 months in a year = 2 million sp per month, 2 million SP x 1 billion isk (average plex price) = 2.5b isk for a 5million SP toon.

The community allows for injector pricing after 5.5 million SP because you can't extract anything less. that's 3.8 million sp at 400k at 625m not 640m (Dont buy in jita)

That's 5.9 Billion + 2.5 Billion value on your character, 8.4 billion for 8.8 million SP. HOWEVER you're never ever going to get the full value of your toon, all toons unless exceptional come in at a 50% loss in revenue, and that's just how it's been since they allowed toons, because no one is going to buy a toon at full price when they could just invest their own isk to make their own toon exactly like yours. Your toon is worth 5b isk. At max.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide your reasoning. I have considered offering 5B as a sale price, but instead decided that I will go the route of extracting.
