Much like the title suggests I would love the art department to conceptualize external weaponry, either like the ship turrets atm or even detached weaponry that appears or disappears as modules within the citadel are installed or removed, much like the visuals of the creation of the old POSs, that yellow laser beam matrix construction, until installed and active.

Why.

This would give a visual continuity much as ships as to installed modules at a glance as well as the option for some interesting graphical configurations and effects coming from emplacements as well as targeting points, in the future, to target specific weapons systems and modules much like with the old outpost ability to affect only certain systems within an outpost.

I came across this picture from Deviant-Art BattleCruiser Ship Design Idea which I feel would, with a few tweaks make an awesome sentry gun style point defense module addition. Imagine that as a gunner takes control the 4 "wings" which are folded back will deploy into the upright positions you see in the picture and thus enabling the gunner to fire at targets. Much like the visual changes to sieging dreads, rorquals, etc and the visual changes to certain ship hulls as they enter and exit warp.

I think this new Citadel style would work awesomely with some really neat visual tweaks and tricks in this area. And seeing as the art department are going overboard lately in eye candy I figured a nudge in this direction might put the art hounds on the rabbits scent.Blink

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.
