Eve Online Bishop Ship

The other day I was browsing the EVE Ships in the market and somehow had a recollection of a ship called "Bishop".

Of course, there are Blood 'Bishop' Ship NPC's, however, I thought there was a ship that was in EVE that was either:

  • Named "Bishop" and had a name change.
  • Bishop was a ship, however, was nerfed out of EVE.
  • It was a design that existed but, was never implemented into EVE.
  • It never existed at all.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a total loss.

I've never seen or heard of a ship named Bishop. It doesn't quite fit the naming scheme for anything either. I'd go with "It never existed at all"

Try searching through the special edition ships, only way I can think of there being a ship named that is if it was a tourney prize ship.

How long ago was. I remember some of the old jove ships that were removed like the eidolon. At least I'm pretty sure the eidolon is out even tho only cap had them to begin with.

Do you know what race it was or what it looked like?

I certainly can't find anything on google that matches that description. Are you sure it wasn't just a renamed ship someone was using?
Seems unlikely this was a thing, only because most ships that are now unavailable are still well documented. But I can't even find mention of this one.

was it perhaps a code name for one of the new ships? Or maybe it was a name given to a player created ship during the design a ship contest?

There was one made by a player in the "design a ship contest" that had the name of "bishop". It was an amarrian "support carrier" which was basically a battleship class carrier that could be used in highsec. There may have been others called a bishop as well due to all the entries.

Best place to look for them would be on devient-art.

Maybe you glanced at the Deacon (Logistics Frigate) or Apostle (Force Auxiliary)? Both are newer Amarrian ships.

Was it on SiSi?
Anyway the only "Bishop" I know is NPC, and I killed a lot of them. They wanted my blood, the only things they got were EM cruise missiles.

Sadly the best 2 ships of the contest were overlooked.

Sounds like a name for Amarr or Blood Raier ship. I'm sure I've come across Blood Raider ships with that designation. Battlecruiser rats I think.

This might sound weird, but it was shaped like either a blackbird or griffin.

It's kind of bizarre if you ask me, it's like this "real thing" was "real", but it's not really "real". I remember it vividly as the blackbird was called a Bishop. But, the name was changed due to naming conventions. But.. I don't know.. that's the problem I'm trying to solve.

It's highly likely you've merely jumped to a different universe, and in this universe, there's no history of a ship called Bishop. Kinda like how in this universe, the Berenstein bears are called 'Berenstain', but when I was growing up, I know for a fact it was Berenstein.

you may be thinking of the rook, a recon ship based on the blackbird.
