Please add an option to disable the integrated solar system view, it obscures nearby stars and makes navigation far harder then it should be. In some of the larger systems it can obscure entire constellations.

+1, this annoys the crap out of me when tracking a moving target and trying to predict where they're going.

Here are some ideas for the beta map

It would be nice to have a zoom bar similar to maps.google.com or www.openstreetmap.org. That would make the map more approachable for new players.

I think that "left click drag" and "right click drag" should be swapped in the beta map. In other words "left click drag" should move the center if the map and "rightclick drag" should rotate the map in 3D. That would make the map more approachable for new players.

It would be nice to have a "dotlan layout" that is even more abstract than the "abstract layout". In this layout planets should be moved so that they don't cover each other.

Some of the colorings such as "research service" and "personal belongings" should probably be markers rather than colorings. In other words I should be able to place a small icon next to planets with a research station. This would allow me to display all the useful information at the same time

The menu named "color by" should be replaced by a popup-window with tabs, so the user doesn't have to scroll up and down.

The "services" tab in "Solar system information" could have a grid layout so that you can see all icons at once without having to open one station at a time.

The upper half of the "solar system information" window could contain icons descibing services that are offered by at least one station in the system (Place a research icon if the system has at least one research station etc.)

The solar system view should be disabled by default (As suggested by Nichelle), but perhaps it could be added as a tab in "system information".

When I'm looking at my assets on the map and i have my asset window open it would be great if when i mouse over a station in my asset tab it is highlighted in my map. Doable?

The old map allowed you to remove connected lines from system to system but this new map doesn't allow it 🤔 That's one thing that bothers me.

If you need to remind players EVE is a pvp game, there may be an underlying problem rooted so deeply you tend to ignore the obvious.

Just do what I do and turn it off. Works awesome.

Or since they have such a huge zoom scale, just shrink the solar systems to realistic sizes. It won't be that hard to zoom in to the solar system, and when you're done you can zoom all the way back out to the stars. Really, that's how I had imagined it when they announced the feature.

They could even add a slider in the options to determine the size of the solar systems relative to the stars, from "realistic" at the bottom to "looks like you can warp to the next star" at the top of the scale.
