T2 Mining Drone Question

Back in the Dev Blog when CCP introduced Mining Drone Spec they stated that Mining Drone II would eventually require the same skill. Does that mean that it will get up to 10% increase in yield so that Augmented Mining drones will only be about 10% better or will they nerf the base stats of the T2 drone so that with max skill it will end up about where it is now?

Also, has anything been said about when this change to T2 drones will happen?

My understanding is the specialization skill will become a requirement to use T2 drones. It was delayed to give people who were already using T2 drones a chance to train it - which implies the skill will not be grandfathered . It will give 2% per level.

As to when - the only thing we can say with confidence is that it will happen on Tuesday. Your guess as to which Tuesday is as good as mine.

Why would they "need to give people a chance to train" the specialization skill?

If you can currently use Tech 2 Mining drones, the specialization skill is about 14 minutes away.

CCP has always adopted an attitude of "if you could fly it before you could fly it after".

The delay was the right thing to do. I expected the skill to be applied the following week, but they move to their own timetable for sure.
