why are people against "walking in stations"?

I dabbled in Final Fantasy 14 a couple summers ago, and the clan you can join in that game will have a house and you can rearrange your loots and items and couches, hot tubs, drinks, and there's lots of interaction, minigames and emoji's - very cool. Would love to see some sort of corporate lounge in a similar fashion but I guess that's never gonna happen.

When I'm not in a Citadel, I choose to walk in a station. Smile WiS gets lumped in with the bad stuff that was also going on at the same time so that's why so many people are against it I think. Or they are petulant crybabies.

I am not against WiS as such, but I have yet to see any suggestions as to how it would advance or improve Eve Online as a game.

For CCP to introduce WiS there would need to be some compelling game-play suggestions in favour if it.

I want to walk around in Barbie gear, gambling and...well whatever, just do not cut the mustard.

Think big folks, perhaps CCP would consider any serious suggestions.

This is not a signature.

I started playing Eve when that little portrait was all there was of your character. In the time since then there has not been a single compelling reason to know what my character's shoes look like.

It'd be fine to spin off games in the Eve universe -Dust 514 was very forward looking in that regard (totally backward in other ways tho). But I don't see enough added value to bog down Eve Online with it. Nothing an avatar can do is going to translate into flying spaceships. Heck, we don't even have crews on our kilometer long war ships -lore says we have crews but there is nothing in-game to support this.

I'm for making games with dedicated content. Link them if possible (like Dust tried to do) but keeping the games separate makes for better games all around. Trying to force more mechanics and genres into a single title just means they all get watered down.
Think back in the day when there were sims for pretty much everything. Flight sims were really good at what they did- but they didn't try to force FPS or tank combat into them. WoT does tanks pretty well, but doesn't try to force in air power or infantry. Games are bad at being jacks of all trades.

For any minute or resource spent on WiS, there are a laundry list of other, far more critical things I'd much rather see the devs address. The fact that Incarna came out at a time when so many other parts of Eve were broken guaranteed that players would be angry. Add to that Monocle-Gate and the 'greed is good' paper....and it shouldn't surprise anyone that WiS is seen as at best a bad idea.

Could you polish that turd and do something with WiS? Possibly. But CCP would be better off developing other games with dedicated content to that end rather than keep trying to shove a square peg in a round hole within Eve.
