New free to play tier - iron man mode. No skill or ship restrictions, except you don't get access to skill injectors or extraction, and you don't reclone when you get podded. You're just dead, time to make a new toon. For those really hardcore PVP'ers only. One account per person at a time, just like Alpha.

Why? Spin up five of these and you have five perfect highsec money making alts that will never die.

What danika says. Use accounts like this to run pve where the npcs dont pod you even if you suck, or trading alts, pi alts etc

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

you forgot to mention the part where an iron man mode character can't access the player market, send/recieve isk donations, loot wrecks/containers generated by other characters, engage in contracts with other characters, or station trade.

the point of iron man mode isn't simply you die and must start from scratch, it's the fact that you're on your own entirely.

Or the fact that you have to be pretty bad at EvE to lose a pod in highsec or lowsec.

Now I get what everyone is saying here, and I agree (the post before yours suggests how it can be done though), but I disagree with this. Losing a pod in lowsec to someone who's very good at what they do does not mean you are bad. Smartbombs are still very common in lowsec. And you lost one yourself to a Daredevil in Kedama earlier this year, which I wouldn't consider "pretty bad" if the daredevil pilot is sufficiently fast enough.

Anyway, all that aside, I was aware of all the flaws listed before posting this idea, and the solutions are as obvious as the flaws are, and suggested in a post here already - restrictions on interactivity, how long you can be docked (long enough to fit ships and repair), and it's really not that hard to figure out how to make this work, but I can understand why people would be concerned and I share those concerns. I made this post more to see who would be interested in some kind of iron man mode. I would, but if no one wants it, that's fine too, I get all the iron man I really need in Xcom anyway.

No, that pod loss was quite intentional. I didn't feel like flying back to Hek in a pod, so I asked the guy I tried to kill to pod me. I've only lost one pod to a smartbomb in lowsec. Then I remembered why you don't warp gate to gate in lowsec, so yeah, that was a pretty bad moment.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure playing like this is called "Single Player".

I'm also equally sure it wouldn't be worth CCP's time and effort to add.
