Simply put, yes, if you can transfer an Alpha character.

All characters in your paid account are Omega.

Are you that far ahead in the training that you don't want to make a new character in your Omega account? You wouldn't have to go thru the hassle of transferring and pay the transfer fee if you made a new one.

My nephew has been away from the game for a little while, prior to the Alpha and Omega thing, however he had the skills to fly both industrial ships and an Orca. Now since his return, the game says he's an Alpha, but he has the skills for the ships. He just can't fly them.

Upon looking at upgrading his toon, you have to buy yet another PLEX or membership. SERIOUSLY?! Evil

Please tell me CCP that you are not screwing over the other players because they had to take care of things in RL, and now when they return, they are forced to buy not one, but 2 memberships to return their toons back to Omega (normal) status.

Any advice here would be welcome....

Especially from CCP or the Devs....

If you plex or pay subscription your Alpha account instantly should turn into Omega, there should be no requirement to pay twice.

Your nephew is Alpha since he hasn't paid subscription, before this change he could not even log in before paying sub or plex.

Actually he paid for his account through Steam (I prefer to pay directly, but all the same CCP got their payment), so he did pay for his sub, which is why both of us are a little confused on this matter.

Was it free on Steam? because now steam lists eve as free, so basically they are offering steam connected Alpha accounts or to steam connect an existing account which would be Alpha with or without Steam until it is plexed or subbed.

Core Starter pack on steam is only for new accounts, so did he buy that or a PLEX? The plex is an item that has to be activated in game and would be in the redemptions.

He renewed his membership through the Eve Online website, signing in under a Steam Account. It took the credits from his Steam and paid for the account, so he should have a regular Eve Account. He didn't get it for free, nor was it an Alpha account when he originally purchased it. He purchased a full account via steam several months ago, not core starter.

Eve is a monthly sub game(yes you can pay months in bulk, but it's still a monthly sub game). So... if he ran out of months subbed, he woulda been automatically returned to an alpha state.

There has also been a visual error that shows you as negative days subscription, this does not mean you have to pay X amount to come back to game, when you activate 1 plex/subscription month you will be positive 30days

Ok, so I guess the next question is how long before he becomes Omega status from Alpha if he continues to pay?

It's a bit like a Gym Membership. You started the membership, then didn't go to the gym for a month, so now you have to pay for this month to get into the gym.

Have you considered the annual subscription?

If hes PAID through CCP and not getting it file a petition and let the GMS sort it out. Aas he should be Omega if hes paid for his current sub month/time period. This isnt a question we here on the forums can answer for you.

The CCP GMs will sort you out quite quickly usually, always have for me.Smile

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Thank you. Will check with him and see if it returned to Omega status, if not, will file with CCP GMs.

Have a great Holiday everyone, fly safe and good hunting!

Open a GM ticket to get it straightened out. If you paid the 15$ through Steam, the account should be omega now, if its not, either there's a hold up on the steam > CCP end, or a good old fashioned clerical error in CCP's database. Either way, they should be able to tell you what happened.

it should be immediate, as soon as you upgrade the toon should switch over to omega status, maybe a few seconds as it initiates but if you have already upgraded and it is still not an omega then file a petition in game
