Several Dev questions

The Launcher and game works perfectly fine for me, I'm just here to ask some questions I was curious about to Devs involved in this Unofficial Official project. Apologies if these questions have been asked before.

About the special CCP wine versions

  • What makes it different from normal wine, is there any sort of predetermined library call results or special bug fixes?
  • Will a 64bit version arise at some point? (considering the launcher is only 64bit but, IIRC, the wine prefix is 32, this should probably happen.)
  • Will the Staging and D3D passthrough patches ever be added? (The former adds minor experimental multithreading of draw calls and some other speedup experiments, the other passes the calls directly Linux, for use with Gallium-Nine, or, recently, DX9-Vulkan. Both are opt-in experiments only even when the patches are added.)

About the upcoming Wine 2.0 DX11 Support

  • Is the support as it currently is in the current Release Candidates sufficient for the Trinity DX11 core?
  • If not, do the DX11 patches waiting for the end of the RC code freeze give sufficient support?
  • If neither, what is Wine missing to do so?

About helping with the Wine project

  • This is related to the first question, about what you can release back into the Wine project as a whole. Can it be done or are your modifications too specific to EVE?
  • If not, will you ever contribute to the project otherwise (even if it's just something small)?

Thank you for your time.
