Hello

Firstly I wanted to explain why I am making this post, due to a mental health issue I am unable to work in any normal situation that most people would be able to cope with, over active neurons, anxiety, all of it has always been a huge problem for me. Then I found Eve Online, it's complexity and scope has always been able to calm me to a certain degree, to keep me focused, but for me, Eve Online has enabled me to interact with other players on a personal level, I don't have many friends because I see threats where none exist, it is just part of my on-going issues.

CCP Gave Me A Focus & For That I Can Never Thank Them Enough! <--

Yet this game has enabled me to have a "job" as such. I was able to use my name Evocationz Adhera and create a YouTube channel and do what I like to do best, help people. This game has given me a direction, a purpose. I have played the bad guy, building corps to destroy them, I have done capital warfare but no matter what I do, I always keep playing.

No other game has ever held my attention like Eve Online does, it is simply put, unique, to be able to do so many things on different accounts, from PvP to PvE, to be able to stream and chat with people, to forge online friendships, has given me a peace within my own mind that I can build on. It is uniquely suited to people like myself, enabling us to be at peace with who we are.

At this time of year people often say what are you thankful for? Me? Of course I am thankful for my wife and children but that is as it should be.

What I am thankful for, is this game, the effect it has had on me and how it has given me purpose in life, it has enabled me to make money and not feel like a loser, it has changed me, forced me to interact with others and be peaceful doing it. It has given me goals, fun, loss, all of the above.

So from me, Merry Christmas to all of the CCP Team & A Happy New Year,

I look forward to many more years playing this incredible game.

Thanks, CCP, for all your hard work on Eve over the years, and especially for the new Alpha idea: I'm sticking my head in the door as someone who hasn't really played much since Apocrypha. If I like what I see, then who knows, maybe I'll take you up on that Omega offer too!
