Why do supers use hyperspacial rigs?

Returning old player, all the supers I see for sale on the forum now have hyperspacial rigs. Back in the day it was just trimarks etc. I thought maybe it was to do with align time but can't see that it makes a difference. Are people really fitting them to warp faster?

Thanks,

They are used for travel-fits and the occasional "lol-drive-by" engagement.

Fun Fact 1: all Capital ships can now use stargates.
Fun Fact 2: The largest of the "citadels" (see: player made stations that are replacing outposts) allows supercaps to dock in them.
Fun Fact 2.5: All player made "citadels" are destructible.

For the majority of fleet super fits people still use trimarks as they add a lot of much needed ego to the ship, but say for scout hels or ratting nyx's/hels/wyverns it allows people to warp from site to site faster increasing those dank ticks. It also helps with warping gate to gate faster and saving those needed moments when running from tackle

Warp speed is a huge factor nowadays. Not only is the difference quite significant, but caps and supers when moved are nowadays often forced to travel a couple of jumps by gate in order to not accumulate a lot of jump fatigue. And the faster they warp, the easier and faster the move op will be. And when you are moving caps, you don't want to be out there for too long.

Warp speed got a major slow down on the low end. This dev blog on the warp speed changes has some good graphs and a chart. https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/warp-drive-active

Fun Fact 1.1: Supers can't take a gate when HIC pointed.

If CCP wanted to drastically slow down the ingame economy, all they have to do is slow down all ships warp speed. It is the silent isk sink, warp times.

Tho I wonder, maybe just for the sale.. the sellers rig it that way just to move the thing faster to its sell point?

Later, it was necessary to train a lot of "... rigging" skills to use rigs. Thus, many players used armor or shield rigs only.

Nowadays, "...rigging" skills are needed to create rigs and to limit disadvantages of the rigs. To fit a rig, you need nothing but the rig. Thus, you can buy expensive ship with hyperspacial rigs just to transport it, and then refit with new rigs. Roll
