Whose bright idea was this? As if other players depleting belts wasn't bad enough now we have these NPC miners doing it too? This was an extremely stupid idea. Please remove them from the game.

Roll

You know you can shoot them, right?

On a side note, you know you can shoot the other players depleting the belts as well?

Basically, if you can't be bothered to do something about the *snort* NPCs yourself, why should CCP lift a finger to help you?

Remove them yourself.

With your guns. (They drop mineral boxes I think?)

My Skiff does more DPS than my caracal. Not being a 'fighter' is kind of irrelevant.

Their support fleet makes it relevant.

CCP controls the amount of ore in the belt. If they believe the NPC miners are impacting the player harvest they can adjust the number or size of the asteroids to compensate.

A look at mineral prices and it's obvious player harvest is increasing, more minerals are coming to market pushing prices down.

That's due to the new excavator drones. Expect the prices to come back up slightly after the nerf impacts the market.

Again, get friends. At the very least, you can find one of the groups that hunts these things and let them know when you find one.

Err...how? If you can get decent DPS out of a mining ship, you can shoot the rats with your mining ship. Especially if there are lots of mining ships.

Do they deplete ore? Ha! thats hilarious. And if you attack them you lose standings so you can't mine in their space. And if there are players around attacking you, because you are now suspect, the npc's will remote repair them. Brilliant.

Don't forget to thank the 'this would be cool' crowd. Player driven sandbox? Nah. We need more themepark crap like this.

There is nothing themepark about having a living world.
It's actually sandpark to have such things, since it creates a living naturally driven world.

On the contrary, the npc's in belts and the glowing lights on every station create as much of a living world as a 50's nuclear test site.

We already had a naturally driven and living world. Where there was reason for players to gather, they gathered. Where there were reasons for players to mine, they mined. To fight, they fight. To trade, they trade. And in places where players don't populate, things were quiet and resources unspoiled

Now belts that were mined by players who choose to live in the sticks are being depleted by bots. Cant wardec them. Cant barter with them. Cant join em. Cant attack their structures. And of course they appear and disappear magically.

Living world? Pfft.

So every time a NPC warps to your belt, you warp to the next one?

No, why would I? The rats are easily dealt with but the NPC miners have massive support fleets that will turn my Skiff into scrap metal.
