Hello Evelings

So guys at the moment I've got a character that does level 4 missions to fund me with ISK, I don't mind paying for EvE so I don't really need the money unless getting new equipment.
At this moment In time I've got a 2nd Account and I was wondering as EvE players would it be better for:

Industry - This seems like something I could just send out to a belt start mining and practically leave be and only micro manage when roids disappear, Also saying that since I play other games as well I could also have it mining then as well.

Another Mission Runner - Since missions don't really take that long I don't see the point in having 2 mission runners.

Salvager - Can you really make that much money from salvaging all your missions, Maybe if I did industry with it as well and trained the right skills maybe in 8-12 months It would work.

PvP - ( Am wanting to try this) I really wanting to try PvP but I'm a bit scared of losing ship after ship after ship, It's not like other games where you can just jump into since on EvE I'll lose everything. If anyone knows of any corps that will help and maybe give advice please say.

Explorer - I've been watching WingSpan a lot recently and exploring into Wormholes and seeking out targets looks like fun, again maybe this takes some time to learn and get used to.

I'm hoping people out there who have Alt Accounts can share some light on how you use yours and which is most fun for you :D

Thanks in Advance

PVE and PVP is what I do. Most of the PVE things are quite the same when you do them in HighSec and as soon as you enter Low/Null/WH you are PVPing kind of anyway. Even running away is part of PVP.

So why not get a second toon for those times you want sweet revenge or just blow up whatever loot piñata to stumble upon by accident. If you have enough ISK you won’t think to yourself: Darn, I wish I could salvage those wrecks or darn, I wish I could haul that myself instead of setting a contract. But chances are good you totally will go: Darn, I wish I just could blow that prick into smithereens!

There's also the other side of industry. Building.

It'll take you a little longer to become proficient in and require more initial capital than mining. But it's pretty hands-off once you are up and running and is a decent source of steady income.

If you want to get into PvP, the first thing you need to do is remove the fear of losing ships and turn it into the fun of losing ships. Ships are simply ammo - do you worry about the missiles you fire off at the rats now?

The usual advice given is buy 50-100 fitted versions of the T1 frigate/destroyer you like the most and go get fights. Lose and lose and lose, but learn from each fight. Alternatively, join one of the big nullsec based newbie corporations and see if you like fleet fights. Most give out free tackle and EWAR frigates to new players - you lose nothing.

You'll never need to fly a billion isk ship in PvP unless you want to and are ready to lose it. Enormous fun is available to the frigate and destroyer pilot.

Personally, I can think of nothing more boring than shooting red triangles on missions. Each to their own, but I don't find EvE a competent PvE game. It is however, an exhilarating PvP game.

For PVP join a corporation that specializes in it and has a ship replacement program. Null sec organizations like Karma Fleet, Pandemic Horde or Brave Newbies run regular fleets for new players and you can make a lot more ISK ratting in nullsec than running level 4 missions in highsec.

You will want some low maintenance activity for income on your ALTs - PI, research, manufacturing. These activities you submit the job and come back days (or months for some research jobs) later to pick up the finished product. You can also train the ALT as a scout, Cyno, market watcher or other function that is useful for your gameplay.

Get your alt to join RvB for some pvp action.

Cheap frigs are easy to come by and the alt can scan sites when not pvping for extra isk.

If you follow the rule "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" then losing ships holds no fear and is a fun learning experience.

I use one account to have a prober/explorer/covert cyno character which I then farm for skillpoints while retaining the required skills. I use/used the character for PvP-related purposes more than PvE.

Not that exciting really but it generates a bit more than a PLEX/month passively so the account is essentially free & there's a couple of hundred mill over each month. I only mention it as nobody else has.

If you want to do PvP then RvB is fun (in a sort of groundhog day way) and building a pure PvP character can be quite fun as most "mains" have skills all over the place from when you were scrabbling around for skills to do a mission/etc.

Market/station trading is the way to make lots of money but 90%+ of the people in Eve don't have the brains/inclination/talent for it. Not being harsh here but thats the truth - most people that try it lose lots of money AND time.

Industry isn't my thing at all. I did have a go at drug manufacturing (boosters) once upon a time when they were still illegal but the hassle of it all made it feel like work Sad

Who cares if you lose tons of ships in PvP?

First-- PvP can be done in T1 frigates A single L4 mission, not even salvaging or looting, will pay for a hangar full of them. Win or lose it's cheap entertainment. We used to have a thing called the Friday Frig Fry in Eve, and a few L4s had me in enough frigates to last as long as I cared to go boom.
As long as you learn something from each loss, it's not a waste. You're an immortal space god, remember?

Secondly-- fight for a reason. No one cares about your kill mails but you. Having a cause to fight for means you never die in vain. I have died so many times flying a Sabre...but as long as I hero bubble the bad guys...it was totally worth it. Lit many a cyno and died for it, but when it's hot drop o'clock and your friends are ROFLstomping somebody who took your bait... death is always a victory.

Lastly, it's a game. Living and dying has no meaning. If you like Eve Online, you will enjoy being blown up (almost Big smile) as much as blowing someone else up. You should be having fun winning or losing.
