I am not 100% certain how this could be done. And I know many will slip the mission and miss the lesson.

Still... What about a mission in the NPE where the new player is given a hauler, told to fly it to an NPC citadel in a deep space pocket, and have a random need NPC group gank the ship before the player docks.

The mission could then be repeated with the Agent splitting the load in to 3 smaller batches, requiring the player to haul 3 times but my get ganked. Maybe require they tank the hauler the 3rd time. Or make the mission constantly repeatable and the npcs keep tanking till the load is split in to cheaper batches.

Granted it may not help, but if we get even one less topic about how suicide ganking should be removed it Would be worth it.

Just use the already existing hauler missions. Have an NPC show up and gank the mission. Reduce the mission fail penalty but still fail the mission. Let new players feel the whole deal. Don't sugar coat it. Let them get ganked and feel some pain. Just have the agent explain to them a few fun facts about ganking, possible ways to avoid it in the future and so on. I've tried to advance this idea several times over the years.

I do believe that if a missioner got ganked early by NPC in a controlled environment AND then the agent provide safety tips for the future the NPE would be an even better tool than it is now. The value gained by the mission would be the mini tutorial on how some effort goes a long way to minimize the chance of being ganked. Not everything needs to be paid in isk/LP/loot. Once you get through the gank mission (report back to your agent and get the mini lesson) it never comes up again. If you turn it down, it's like missionherpes and keeps coming back.

It would be like a mandatory vaccination. Everyone loves those!

There are already two missions in the tutorial where you lose your ship.
As long as its a mission, and they were MEANT to die, they wont learn the lesson. They will still think its unfair when players do it unexpectedly.

Even devs coming into threads and saying, 'Ganking is something we allow.' 'No it doesnt hurt the NPE. We checked', an FAQ saying 'This is a PvP game. Ganking is one way you will be PvP'd' AND the golden rules saying 'You consent to PvP when you undock', these morons still dont understand what kind of game this is.

... they can just gank a player ship there doesn't need to be a mission if there doesn't need to be a mission
