Hey pilots,

yesterday i entered 2 WH...

The first one was an "unkown" WH, nearly empty and i found a Angel-Datasite wich i hacked my first time (YEAH!Cool)
after that i entered a second "unknown" WH BUT this one was full of sleepers, every Data and Relicsite was secured by Sleeper drones.

I think the first one was an C1 and the second one a C2 or C3... but i dont know it!

How can i identify which classification the WH have? (unknown=C1,C2,C3?)

Thx for help and sorry for my bad english!

If u look at the info for the wh there are three possibilties :
-it leads to unknown space: wh classes 1 2 and 3
-it leads to dangerous unkown space: classes 4 and 5
-it leads to deadly unknown space: class 6
other then that there are wh's that will lead to known space (HS/LS/Null)

if u enter the wormhole you can google the wh name (j123456) to find out more info.

This might be usefull for you.

Grats on the hack.

Low class wormholes contain a mix of sleeper and pirate faction exploration sites. The pirate sites are undefended, and while the sleeper sites are not. High class wormholes contain only sleeper sites.

As you can imagine, the sleeper sites are more valuable (generally), but you need a combat ship to clear them. You can tell which is which simply by the title of the sig after you scan them down - faction sites will contain the faction name in the title .

Thx for the fast answeres!

Are there many "pirate"sites?

Today i will explore again. I think i will fit a Coercer and
try to kill my first Sleeper.

Any advice?

It depends. Keep in mind that, like you, many explorers are targeting those sites, so you can easily scan down a system with over a dozen sigs, only to find that they are all gas sites or sleeper sites. Which probably means that someone else worked the system just an hour or two before got there.

The pirate sites in C1-C3 class wormholes are the same as you'll find in nullsec and with the same rewards. If you want to do exploration, I'd recommend following a wormhole into nullsec space. It offers the same rewards and is less dangerous as long you stay away from gate camps.

The only thing that makes the sleeper sites valuable is the blue loot dropped by the sleepers themselves. The actual cans that you hack are rarely worth more than a few million isk in low class wormholes. You run data and relic sites with sleepers to kill sleepers - not for the cans.

If you want to kill sleepers with a Coercer, I'd suggest staying in C1 wormholes. As a rule of thumb, you need a well equipped cruiser for C2s and a battleship for C3s.

Only 1, 2 and 3s have faction sites.

I am pretty sure that if you find scan down a site and it has defenders than all the sites will have defenders in that hole.

That's not how wormholes work. All Class 1, 2, and 3 wormholes can have both sleeper data/relic sites as well as nullsec quality pirate data/relic sites (and occasionally ghost sites). There will usually be more sleeper spawns than pirate faction spawns, but the presence of one has nothing to do with the likelihood of the other.
