Hello everyone, first off a quick happy holidays to you and yours.

I like to take just a moment of your time to discuss an idea that one of my corpmates gave to us after we had concluded another project this past month.

What I have in mind is, to determine how often a K162 connection leads to empire space while running a chain. I did a sample run last night beginning in a C5 I scanned down in a hisec system and jumped in and began scanning signatures down, and hit a second C5 within a couple minutes with a K162 connection.

I then proceeded to scan down and got a hit on a C2 with a K162, Another scan led me to another C2 in which I was able to scan down a hisec static exit. I would like to know if you all have any objections as I'm sure you may or may not have, and if need be a freeported citadel in case I need to log.

This varies astronomically based on what statics you have and what classes of WHs you have in your chain.

What exactly are you trying to determine in any case?
Typically you do not scan a chain by going through a bunch of k162s, you start in a system with a stating and follow the statics of each system throguh till you hit kspace, then you go through and fill out the rest of the chain by scanning any incoming/wandering WHs. (obviously there are exceptions if you're looking for something specific)

As for k162s themselves, you can just show info on a k162 to see if it goes to kspace or not so I'm not really sure what this is trying to accomplish.

Do you just want an arbitrary number so that you can say something along the lines of 'if i start in a C5 system with a C5 static and fully scan the chain to kspace in all directions, on average there will be X k162 holes that lead to kspace'?

In anycase, here's a list of WH types that originate in kspace and where you'll find their K162 exits:

A641: HS -> HS
B449: NS -> HS
S199: NS -> NS
R943: Any Kspace -> C2
R051: HS -> LS
N944: LS/NS -> LS
N432: LS/NS -> C5
M555: HS -> C5
U319: NS -> C6
V283: HS -> NS
X702: Any Kspace -> C3
Z971: Any Kspace -> C1

Note that you won't get any in normal C4s but can find them in all other areas of space.
Disclaimer: This does not cater for shattered systems or frig holes, both of which work differently and are far more random.

there is one C4 to kspace j010556 that is c4 with c2 and c1 along hs staic - shattered c4 pulsar wth sansha rats

You can determine most of the things you need mathematically:
You know what systems exists, you know what connections exist and for most oft them, also how many there are.
The only thing you don't know ist how many of those connections were already opened. Doesn't matter for outgoing wormholes, of course, but the number of incoming holes can change the results significantly.

My suggestion would be, you determine the numbers for the assumption that all holes are open and for the case where no holes are open. Afterwards you try to determine how big the chance for incoming wormholes is in realtiy compared to theory.
