Command mining bursts / aggro timer

Why do we get an agro timer when applying mining bursts to fleet members?

Because all command bursts give a weapon timer. It's as designed by CCP. Blink

It's the classic risk vs. reward, there is some choice involved when to boost.

I'm my own NPC alt.

It's good coz it prevents from docking as long as the timer is active and most of all it doesn't deactivate when entering warp. Lots of potential drama kills to be had :D

There is NO aggression time, it is a weapon timer.

The anoying part about the weapons timer when boosting mining fleets is

I can not dock up before the minute is up.
I can not cloak up.
I can not change out modules from a mobile depo.
I can not online modules from a mobile depo without cap being at 100%/using most of my cap to do so.
I can not reapply boosts to members whom did not resieve boosts cause of x reason.
I can not jump to another system. (gate or jumpdrive)

All thies apply for all 3 mining boosters. The one minute timer is quite long. Im guessing the module cycle time is set to 1 min so you dont burn out of charges fast hince why the timer is 1 minute. but for me i turn if off and have to micromanage it in case i need to do one of the above thing (except the reapply to ships that did not get boost)

So i have 1 minute where i can not do any of the above and about 55 sec where i can do it.

in the rorqual is not the docking up that becomes the problem if im sieged. its the change modules.

CCP hates exceptions.

Exceptions lead to complex computer code, which is harder to maintain, and which leads to bugs.

Hence all bursts are treated the same.

Bursts can give a tactical advantage "buff" to a remote ship, like faster repping, or more resists. They can also "de-buff" (penalize) everyone in range: Effect Generators (titan modules). Hence a weapons timer for these "hostile" actions.

Over my almost 8 years of EvE, only one weapons flag has be hotly-contested, and repeatedly flipped back-and-forth: Interdictor probe launchers. However, I've not really seen many complaints about bursts, which implies that the community is more-or-less accepting of the weapons flag.
