Shame about the odd items that remain after the starting missions

Not a novellist, so here, in brief:

After the initial few missions you end up with:

- A scientist
- Some survivors
- An unknown sequence

For each, i asked around in the newbie help channel what could be done with them, but they seem to have no further purpose in the game. So i discarded the first two, but was able to make some ISK for the last (a blistering 500 or so).

Stil, it seems kinda harsh to 'dump' superimportant survivors to what seems to be the start of an epic storyline... could be resolved more elegantly i gather'. Such as simply turning them in as the mission completes? Or....?

Cheers, thats all. Big smile

I just keep all my people I "rescue" and throw them in my hangar where they just party or whatnot. When I end up looting food from something I throw that in there too, can't have them starving. I have a couple hundred soldier types among others, it's part of my plan to take over ..... uh ... something, sometime, maybe.

It's just one of those things. When I was seriously mission running I would constantly get many more Miltants then needed. I put them in a special designated section of the hangar. Just make sure to add some exotic dancers and janitors for a perferct party.

Well to build a keepstar, as I recall, you need to add a certain number of marines and janitors. So maybe ccp is going to start using the rest of these space dregs in other things as well.

IN the far away past (2006) scientists where a pricey item as they were used for the R&D missions, and those missions were needed to get standing with the R&D agents for a chance to get a T2 BPO. The researchers asked for plenty of unusual items instead of the current move this or bring minerals R&D missions.

That made some of those missions way more interesting than the current versions. I had hangars full of random mission drops because you never did know if this week (I am almost sure you could do them only once a week with each agent) request was spiced wine, planetary vehicles or scientists.

From what I have heard, before my time there was even a mission or location where you where able to convert slaves to freed slaves or other kinds of citizens. Sadly it was removed before I started playing. A pity because that is the kind of things that make the PvE part of the game more enjoyable.

For some month while I was unsubbed there were crews to help with invention and manufacture, I think those used the some of the livestock units, too.

So don't throw them away, maybe someday they will be useful again.
