Blanket statement: I am new please don't rub it in.

First off I saw the game was going free so I tried to learn up as much as I could before my trial was up. Didn't get far. I did however like the exploration missions. Different take on the game I guess. So I'm going through the missions and it tells me this is this that and the other. Cool. Now it wants me to go obtain a proof of discovery from a capsule. Again not an issue. This is apparently a 5 part mission. In on 3 of 5 which is otain said proof. I now have 6. Is this a bug or what? I guess extra information is required. I'm an Amarr working with that exploring npc chick on the institute in Pasha. Don't know if that matters but that's what I can go off of.

which proof?

each mission ask for different item named X proof of discovery.

first one is from anomaly, you don't scan just warp in.
second is from data site you need to scan with probes.
third is relic site you scan with probes and last one is gas site which you scan with probes and u need to pick up a key from the station before you undock.

So it turns out that I'm just a ******. I was making it abundantly harder than it actually was and I kind of found it by accident. So what I have to do is get probes and a probe launcher not to mention having a ship that actually can support both for the capacity. Then you go outside and select the formation for your probes to scan in then repeat the process until you find what you're looking for and just hit the analyze button over and over. When you find it you can travel there and warp. So the issue is the beginning tutorials for how to use probes and exploration in general is just horrendously built. I am now progressing with no issues.

That clue was great, I have 2 of the 3 documents, but cannot find the "key" to unlock the Accelerator. It isn't in my Item Hold or in my Burst's hold. Should I just abandon the mission and start over?Sad

Don't quit the mission. Make sure you've accepted the mission from the agent. It should be listed in your journal. Check your assets and see if the Key is in it, if so then go to that location. If the mission is accepted and you don't see the key in your assets, then submit a Support Ticket (Type = Game Play Support - Category = Game Play = Agent Mission In Progress), explain the situation and ask for a reset. GM's usually answer those quite quickly.
