When I try running the evelauncher.sh file it just hangs and never completes. I tried setting all the exports manually then running the launcher but then the launcher just hangs as well on the terminal and does not open any windows. Am I just doing this wrong? It seems this game has taken a uturn from working great on linux to not being able to run on linux at all. I thought the release of this launcher was pushing the linux experience forward but we were far better off back when the game actually worked on wine.

Actually, the launcher works great. But nobody forces you to use it - if you can't make it work, there's still the windows launcher to play around with.

Since you didn't say what you were actually doing, please open a terminal and post the output - if any - of

sh /wherever/you/have/evelauncher.sh

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I tried the windows launcher but it seems since a few updates ago it no longer works in wine. Here is the output when I run the script. Thats what I mean when I say it "hangs". Where I have to ctrl-c to stop it.

It's probably the broken SSL issue. See the following post for a fix:

There is no shame in not knowing, only in not wanting to know
