Getting philosophical?

Sure, most of the time.

Did you have a question, sir?

ah, forgot about that. What was your funniest mistake as a novice capsuleer?

Right, probably better that way.

What does it mean to be a capsuleer?

Hee. One question per answer given, sir. ... Maybe save it until someone responds to your first?

That said, answering this one's a little bit of a hobby. Maybe a little bit more than that.

This one's terribly embarrassing and turned many a wary eye at me. Just graduated from PTS not a week prior, and I decided I'd earned enough running missions to head back to Caldari lowsec to fight for the State (insert war-era propaganda march melody) Still shaky with the neocom, though, and I applied and was accepted to Ascending Angels. A Galmil corp. Oops.

EDIT: as soon as I realized my mistake and managed to get into Calmil, I didn't want to drag my cache of T1 frigs to Lonetrek, so I undocked all my ships and abandoned them, figuring somebody else could grab and keep them. Later I found out the Matari facpo were popping them as fast as I was leaving them, and yes, it generated public killmails. Sorry, new corp.

Anyways. What's your favorite corporate livery?

Seeing as this was aimed at me, I think, I'll take the chance and answer directly:

Dumplings.

A friend making food for you, or you doing it for them, even if it'd be faster or easier to order for it or have your staff cook it, especially if it's something as ridiculous as those seared, steamed dumplings you could get by the dozens on basically any station in New Eden.

It's not as often as I'd like, but there've been nights where I've dismissed my staff expressly so that I could badly cook for a friend, and we've absolutely destroyed a kitchen in our feeble efforts to make a proper dinner for ourselves.

It's wonderful.

It connects me with what used to be, for me, and for humanity.

Due to the recent loss of a clone, I'd been forced to lay up for a time and get used to a fresh body. Now that I've acclimatized to the new hardware, I've got work to do getting complex reaction materials into the hands of our technicians. Looks like I'll be glad-handing around the screaming edge of Metropolis looking for a seller.

No.

You'd lose the very thing that'd make each repeat of a given experience interesting in its own right, the slight variations of how it ends up going that make it unique.

That and memories never ever make up for actually doing something.

What ultimately keeps making you tick, what keeps you going and stops you from just giving up all together?

The prospect of change and the possibility of recovering that which offers such a prospect. Friends, family, and moments with both, old and new.

I would live on some distant continental rimworld where there probably isn't a lot of other colonists. As for how I'd choose to do it, I'd probably end up there by mistake, malfunctioning thrusters, or shot out of the sky. flip a coin.

Years ago, when I was in Anshar, very shortly after the refits to the T1 logistics cruisers came through, we threw together a fleet to try them out - some light and medium armor, and a trio of Augurors, with me flying one because I was spec'd for one more or less by chance.

Three minutes out the gate, we ended up smack dab in the middle of a three-way fight between miltia and pirates in a medium complex somewhere, outnumbered something crazy like three to one. We fought near non stop for half an hour straight, with only brief pauses for frantic looting for ammo and nanite paste, hasty repairs, and regrouping. Two more groups came in and were ground up.

Then, some quiet, and Milo calls, "Okay, that was intense. I think we should gather everyone up for a bit. Is anyone down?"

Silence.

"Is anyone down."

Then, the most gratifying half-laugh ever. "I guess not!"

And, winds. I'm just going to ask the same question again, basically. Tell me about your proudest moment.

my proudest moment was when I made my first successful exploration run. wasn't a lot of loot, and i think I mentioned this earlier, but I made around 1 mil isk. took me forever to find that one data site. I was glad I earned the isk. I'm sure better moments will come around though.

what was the dumbest purchase you've made?

Threw away 1b isk in Jita somehow. Don't even remember how, but I think it was a contract for a supposedly 1m isk Svipul that was off by a zero or three. Lesson learned.

Where'd you get the money for the capsuleer program? I guess this only applies to egger pre-Alpha era.

Sponsored. Both by SAK due to my compatibility, and the rest off of the life insurance payouts from both my parents. (Technically. My father got my mother's payout, I think, and then I got it from my father when he died.)

EDIT: Damnit Slayer. I have no real opinion on them as a group, but I do have opinions on individual Clone Soldiers.

What degree did you study as part of your capsuleer training?

Studied history mostly; I've always liked learning about the past of the cluster, especially the early days of the empires & the ancient races, as well as the tech and knowledge that's been lost to the ages. The Sleepers became my biggest focus after the opening of Anoikis, & they and the Jove, as well as the very related Drifters now, are my main focus.

What ship, out of all the ones not currently available to capsuleers publicly, appeals to you the most visually & aesthetically?

Favorite corporate livery? Black Omega Security. It's black. It's an omega. It's pretty simple and straightforward, declares exactly who they are. Just what livery should do. Never any question about 'hey, who's that black ome-oh.'

Diana Kim wrote:

To fly? The Basilisk. It's slow. It turns badly. The target signature's huge. It doesn't tend to bring anything significant to the table for that horrible speed and bloated sig, compared to the Scimitar. Yes, if it's fitted with an afterburner, it can either have an additional shield repper or a utility ETA, but if you're fitting a Basilisk with an afterburner, you're an idiot who deserves to be chased down by tackling battleships, because you won't outrun a damned Abaddon. Even with a microwarp drive, you're cripplingly slow. It's one of, if not the only Tech II cruiser hull I can think of that can't outperform its basic version in terms of sheer maneuverability. And it's a shame, because other than its navigational profile, it's a very solid ship, but that one flaw really sinks it. If the State could re-engineer it to accept a third low-power system, it'd be immensely improved.

What's the one thing you respect most about the faction/alliance/organization that you find yourself fighting against most consistently?
