Why is it that after I use my core probes to scan a system, the very second I leave that system all memory is erased?

For whatever century this game is supposed to be based out of, is a memory card to futuristic for it?

Do we really believe that they wouldn't implement a system that allowed you to save the locations of the sites so when you returned you couldn't have to rescan everything all over again?

This system isn't believable at all, no one in their right mind would design a scan system like this, and if you say you would, you are lying. We all know in real life, some form of memory card would be used so at least you would have the option to save your results.

It seems like EvE just wants to waste your time doing redundant things over again.

Please don't tell me how I am in a highly advanced space ship but I need a pencil and paper to keep current.
You should also not need a 3rd party tool for an option that is obviously one that would be included.

You have a system to save sites.

Rightclick the site you've scanned: save location

This will auto-fill the name of the site as the name of the bookmark.

If you want to be really fancy, add the ID of the signature to the front of the bookmark name.

Your system would require purchasing special Memory Discs or Memory Sticks that would record your use of probes. Once the probes are recalled the recording would stop.

When you wanted to view a certain scan or probe record you would load the Memory Stick into the port in your Captain's Quarters where you could then replay the scanning or probe activity.

I also think that a 3D cube with elevation and azimuth designations should also be built in the probing function to to add a coordinate value system to probing for the benefit of those who use probes and scanners and track objects in space the same way.

Obviously it's not obvious that this should be included, otherwise it would be, obviously.

Why can you not use third party tools to do this?

You state you idea is obvious, my question is obvious to who and what experiences do they have?

I would rather have to right click and save what I want than have to go back through these logs and remove all of the useless trash they would contain. Saving what I want would be significantly less work.

Oh and the answer is yes I did the live in a worm hole thing shortly after they were introduced so I am aware of the requirements to scan your hole and those that connect to it at least once every day.
