The Scout Probe!!!

For the solo pilots out there! The ones that cant run two accounts or simply dont want to! The ones that like taking a trip down to null or even peeking through a WH with a overpriced ship with fittings double its worth and a cargo hull to match.(LOL a bit much but im trying to address the need for a scout for solopilots)

All those times you stood starting at a gate that lead to low sec or a wh wondering whats on the other side wondering if you should risk it wondering if you could hire someone to scout for you!?!?!?

Well wonder no more because now you can simply train your skills and use The Scout Probe once a siutable launcher is fitted and you have destination set for your ship you can send a scout probe ahead to SCOUT. Or go through a WH in front of you. It will magically send data back like local and directional and probe scanner info.

With a little skill training you can send the probe even further through the cosmos and see systems down you course list.

If you really put effort into your operational training there is a probe that you can send into a wh and scan down annomolies from the safety of high sec.

The risk of the probe being caught up in a warp bubble and get destroyed still exists however it will always relay the details of its demise prior to demising.

Sounds great doesnt it, makes you wanna go rush over to a market hub and pick one up. Well ya cant it dont exist. YET!!! We need to be more like Jean Luc and "Make it so"

No but seriously i like solo play alot and i like wh exploration and sites etc there are many ways this would be usefull and its plausible if we can jump a ship through a gate on autopilota why not a probe and our comunication systems have no issues relaying info across the vastness of space.

No thank you.

There are already far too many tools in place to avoid engagements in EVE.

On top of that, special classes of ships exist SPECIFICALLY to be used as scouts (covert ops frigates and interceptors)

EVE does not need systems put in to place to encourage players to interact less.

It's your choice to play a single account.
It's your choice to play solo.
It's you who gets to deal with the consequences of your choices.

It's one of the great things about EvE. You make a decision, you deal with the results of that decision. If you want a scout, either create an alt or bring friends.

Do not like the OP idea but need to comment on this.

You may see the virtual requirement to have multiple characters on multiple accounts online at the same time as one of the best features of this game, I see it as one of the worst, because it severely restricts the options available to those who cannot afford more than one account, or those who do not have enough time to be able to plex multiple accounts.

Having multiple accounts online at the same time runs contrary to CCP's stated goal of players having to band together to accomplish things. Why rely on someone else when I can simple log in another account. I see this all over EvE from the miners with 4 or 5 accounts, to mission runners and those running sites in nul sec to the PvP(shoot people definition) player that has booster alts, neutral spotters, etc all online at the same time.

Personally if CCP really wants to encourage gathering as groups to do things together they need to eliminate the ability to have multiple accounts logged on at the same time. Oh yes there would be tears and no doubt I would add more than a few myself but in the end this game would either move on being more true to CCP's stated goals, or we would all be forced to realize that multiple accounts are not an "option" they are in fact "requirements" and those that cannot afford them or placed at an unfair disadvantage.

Absolutely not. There's already too much risk free intel in the game.

There's already a solution to this, even for those without multiple accounts. It's called "making friends" and it's ridiculously powerful!

I highly recommend that everyone try it Blink

Alts are powerful but not a requirement. It wasn't that long ago someone was telling me ccp said most players don't have an alt.

The game doesn't cater to alts (and hopefully never will), and neither should it cater to solo players.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"
