Any thoughts or ideas on CCP's plans for the annual Christmas gift giveaway. Skins, cute novelty items with no real purpose or maybe a cool shuttle or frigate?

The real question is, what are you going to give CCP?

I hope they give us nothing. It might help to reduce that growing sense of entitlement around here.

All I know is that whatever it is, half the people receiving this free stuff will whine like lost puppies over how CCP has utterly failed them. If there is one thing I can count on, it's that the entitlement level in here is near off the chart.

So what CCP is giving me is some enjoyable reading here in the good ol' GD forum.

New beards and hairstyles for chrismas.

I definitely need a thicker beard. They have 8 different ugly goatees and one option for beards.

Thousands of Euros/Dollars? Most players have multiple accounts and i can tell you, the subscriptions of multiple accounts add up over the years.

Thousands of hours of playtime? Patience with all the ... suboptimal changes like Svipul and Rorqual overbuff?

So you want to say we need to pay more/do more to be entitled to ask for stuff that is actually useful (like a remap for example)?

I don't think that's what he said. Although that's how the world goes, isn't it? If you want more than usual, you have to pay more than usual. If you don't want to pay more than usual, you can't expect more than usual.

But that's not what it's about with presents is it? If you only give a present to get a present, that's not presents, but in a sense trade goods. CCP does these nice things, be it christmas or halloween or Eves birthday where they add something extra, without demanding more money. But one should not expect them to do that every time, or expect more every time like some players tend to do. I haven't seen any notion of that in this thread yet, though. So far it's just innocent speculation, christmas wish lists and a bit of trolling. :)

Then again, cynical-me would say that this is of course all well calculated marketing and promotion shenanigans anyway, and he'd probably be right. But we can at least pretend they were doing out of the goodness of their hearts, just because it's christmas. :D
