Been doing some fire sales of some old hangars I'm collecting from across the galaxy. I've noticed quite a few of the buy orders are now in the 1 jump away systems in tax free citadel's.

Anyone joined this movement? Knowing you have to freight your commodities back to the trade hub to resale does that deter you?

I'm interested in the reasoning behind people that have moved

Usually there's no need to move anything.
Offshoring buy orders saves almost 2% broker fee for me. That's 20m saved for every billion spent. (This adds up nicely.) And setting the buy order to 1 jump means, that the order is usally filled in the trade hub.

For the hauling I was referring to the people who are flipping things they buy. I myself am lazy and just buy from jita rather then going 1 jump to pickup something I bought

You don't often have to go 1 jump to pick up the thing you bought, because the item is sold to you in Jita 4-4 (or whichever hub station you are offshoring) and can then be re-sold in Jita 4-4. Of course some items will fall elsewhere in the 1 jump range, but there are various ways to deal with those and since they are in the minority it's not a massive issue.

The only problem I encounter is when goods are sold to me in a citadel with lax security, that winds up getting blown up.

Not had any really expensive impound fees but have had a few in the tens of millions.

Totally spaced that fact that even though you place your order 1 jump out, the item is still sold to the trade hub.Hmmm...
