Question about Anomaly Combat Sites & Escalations

Hey all,

I recently started running combat site anomalies in a Zealot for kicks and something to do while watching TV. Smashing Dens has been fun and I've gotten a few escalations that were heart-pounding dives into low security space. But I've got a question about the best way to go about finding more Dens.

Take that screengrab. There 2 dens, 2 refuges, plus 3 drone gatherings and an assembly.

Initially I was clearing out all of these anomalies before moving on to the next system. But I literally don't want to get a drone escalation, so I stopped clearing them. I've still be clearing all the Blood sites with the notion that those refuges might "come back" as dens. But is there anything to that? Some of the dead end systems I've gone into have had huge piles of spawns like this, and from my limited time in null back in 2011, a system could only have a certain number of each rank of anomaly. The system I usually hung out in had one Sanctum and a few Havens up. There were never 2 sanctums up though, ever.

So if I'm looking to farm dens, I should just fly around killing Dens only, right? (And I guess clearing out Drone Gatherings since they are rank 4 as well.)

Or do the drones exist on a separate spawn, and I should just clear Dens?

Or should I be clearing everything?

Any insight is appreciated.

I believe there's only a set amount of specific sites that will spawn within a Region. When a site is completed, it will spawn somewhere else. Clearing out other sites will not increase the amount of Blood sites.

If all you want is Blood combat sites, then ignore all other combat sites when their group type is listed in the scanner after getting +75% signal strength.

Would you clear out sites below Den then? Like Blood Refuge, etc?

I wouldn't waste the time if I was only looking for Dens. When you complete a specific site, it'll respawn in another system. If you're only looking for Dens, then it's best to have different routes set up, scan the various systems, complete all Dens and ignore all the other sites.

Set up routes that consist of 6 to 8 systems that deadend in pockets and pipelines which are away from main travel routes. Try them at different time zones, eventually you'll know when to do specific routes to optimize your chances of finding Dens.
